PokerStars India optical glitch or Scam?

Hi, A video surfaced recently on the PokerStars India site which showed when 1 player registered the number of players on display on that table went up by 4 instead of 1. This is still happening since over a week-10days and pokerstars has called it an optical glitch.

1.Is this legal and ok coming from a company like PS?
2.How do we know they are not adding Bots?
3.Do these things happen on the .com site also?

I thought I would post this here since there has been no proper response to this issue in India.

I'm pretty sure it happens on .es as well, but it's nothing more than a bug. The number of player is just shown wrong, nothing else. You can tell by having to wait way longer for a seat than you should at the shown amount of players (especially when that number isn't even divisible by 6) or by simply having an amount that is 2-3 times higher than usual.
This bug already happened a few months ago, then they fixed it, now it's back. It's annoying, but I don't think there's anything illegal going on and they are extremely unlikely to be adding bots.

How can a site like PS have such an obvious bug? Do they do this to show more numbers in new markets? Is this not a form of deception? why only on the cash tables?

Yes, this is a long-standing known bug that affects the Seat Me/Blind Lobby system. Impacts PokerStars.IN and the EU shared liquidity of Spain/France/Italy. It also impacts traffic numbers reporrted to GameIntel (formerly PokerScout).

does this mean even the .com numbers should be divided by 4? How can PS be the biggest site in the world if the numbers displayed are not genuine?

From my understanding of Post #4 the PS bug is only present in India/EU shared liquidity market, and isn't an issue on the dot-com service.

So if the Glitch is not on the main .com software then how is is conveniently happening in the new markets where they are looking to penetrate? I know nothing can be done but isn't this ethically wrong?

Correct, and Italy. Seat Me/Autoseat is coming to dot-com this year though, so hopefully they have this issue fixed by then.

and in stars.frespt we have another bug with the replayer that only functions on some tables and only sometimes...

more rake is indeed better, but i wish that some of that goes back into server maintenance and resolving glitches and bugs.
