Re: Pokerstars - Important changes to VIP reward for 2017

Limit # of tables to 4!!!!
Easier to catch scripters and bots
More flops(lel)
/Problem
Also include those silly taunts like at pkr, recs love this a lot and its an underrated feat.

Also, (just an ocurrence)adjust rake depending on time activity, recs dont feel the rake damage since they dont spend much time playing, lower it for the regs.

Idolize 24-tabler, get him on the team, create the dream. Remove everything that made that dream possible.

Anyone else confused? I guess recreationals are not, huh?

If you can be open-minded enough to just see what comes out of it (as no concrete changes have been implemented yet for 2017 so we are still very much in the dark) then be patient, wait it out and see what develops. You can speculate and make predictions, but you can never KNOW - not for sure. Let's be optimistic.
Now, I am starting to think at the possibility that pokerstars is rigged.

Every move they've made recently is to reduce the edge of the ones who are constant winners.
Why not skewing a little bit the odds when people are allin ? Who will notice ?
Player 1 has 60%, Player 2 has 40%.
Why not make it 55% - 45% ?
So the one who put the money behind will not lose that much.
Doesnt matter if its a recreational or a regular.
But obviously the ones who put the chips in the middle with better odds more often will have a disadvantage.

Yeah, and then they got sold to Amaya.

800-3200 balance 27 percent rakeback
3200-10000 balance 35 percent rakeback
10000-50000 balance 42 percent rakeback
50000-100000 balance 50 percent rakeback
100000-500000 balance 58 percent rakeback
500000 and up 70 percent rakeback

There are many reasons why this is the most profitable path for pokerstars to take.

1. Deposits will almost certainly increase under such a system
2. Withdraws will almost certainly decrease under such a system
3. More games will run and higher stakes games will run
4. Both casino and sports betting will have increased play
5. Interest income from float will be the highest it can be

The most important thing it does is that it forces grinders to increase their risk in order to be rewarded. If I am 12 tabling 1/2 NL but only have a 5k balance then there is no way I can make a good rakeback amount unless I increase my balance. The problem with keeping money on the site is that I then become way overrolled. I can no longer get super juicy 65 percent SNE with a 5-10k roll. I am forced to play higher as is everyone else. Higher buy-in games have the most rake possible for stars. Game quality will improve because of the economics. The money will start to get uncomfortable for the grinder because of the stakes. It will force grinders to have to play real poker.
New staking opportunity to back players for better rakeback. #rakebacking

this isnt the answer. this is nuts- because people with deeper pockets and self control will just abuse it. ie- deposit more just to get the higher rakeback and still grind out lower stakes. then you got the huge risk of losing your bigger balance by stars confiscating funds for this that or the other reason.

I think this is pretty close to the truth. Furthermore the frequency of play will be a method for Stars to collect extra revenue by players who fail to meet their quota. i.e they only played 98 flops in a week when playing 100 would have earned them $1 dollar.

Re: Pokerstars - Important changes to VIP reward for 2017

Great news and one of the things making me want to play stars again. Still there is a lot left to be desired, such as allowing username changes once every month, limiting the number of tables one can play, and having specially designed tables for anonymous play and tables with voice + video capabilities. Perhaps you could even try to get back Athene or other progamers to represent your site, bringing a wider audience with them. Also give out some free money to the playmoney crowd and entice them to get in the game or offer a wider selection of daily freerolls like every other site has been doing. Tourneys with electronics and gadgets up for grabs is also a good idea.

Any time I am in live game from now on I will talk about how Pokerstars has made the games unbeatable. especially there new sports betting and casino. also i will let players know there is a new site opening called Run it Once where it will be fair. This is how we can hurt Amya and move traffic in the right direction.

Anonymous tables, changing username....
Play roulette? Why playing poker? So many opportunities to gamble why changing poker so much that it becomes pure gambling? The only reason is: No one wants to see ordinary people winning. All money must go to Amaya and alike.

This should be the most scary thing IMO and I don't know why anyone didn't bring this up.
If my comprehension is correct, they could value winners and losers differently. i.e. you can be a supernova loser and have 30% or you can be a supernova winner and get 5%
That's a very astute observation. That's exactly what casinos are doing by giving more money back to slot addicts and such.

Noone know for sure but it sounds like they are guiding people to casino and betting. And the more you play and loose bigger are your rewards. Most likely just playing poker and being a winning player gets you something 888 levels back. And some shootout tickets.

Any players in my live games who know what pokerstars is are addicted to playing spin n go's and telling everyone about how they are rigged + their bad beats but how they are good enough to beat them still. None or very limited # of people know who or what Amaya is and don't know the significance of any of the terrible changes they have made the past few years. Which i guess was their plan in the first place, for the majority of their uninformed user base to know of all their cutbacks.

Re: Pokerstars - Important changes to VIP reward for 2017

It's funny because I can see the effects of this news already.

The $60 Hypers and up are totally dead tonight.

It looks like there are only a few people mass tabling $.50/1 6 and 9 max. I'm sure these numbers will fall even further when Supernova is gotten rid off.

It seems like if you want to make any money in 2017, you'll have to become a massive Bum Hunter, while playing few tables and you'll have to have a large win rate

Fair enough but why not agree with them and explain that the rake makes these games unbeatable and unfair. Also remind all the punters that stars is in trouble again with insider trading. how they are not a legit site etc. push the traffic to any other site.

While we understand that the 2016 VIP Club changes have impacted some of our highest-volume players, they have had a positive impact for the vast majority of our players, improving the overall game experience.

LOL.

Let's hope RIO Poker delivers.
