This!
All we can hope for is, that Galfond comes up with stable environment, so we can concentrate on playing Poker and not on sweating every email from Pokerstars.

Exactly this.

When my brother told me "Didn't you see the new Pokerstars changes?" I felt like low in sugar.

I tried to think about something really bad automatically, but the reallity was worse than my imagination.

I have been studying poker hard, and this crap recurrent changes really demotivate, is like Amaya is playing a sadistic game against us, when you assume crappy changes and think anything can't be worse, it keeps getting worse

the only light of hope is galfond's site hopefully he wont turn into the dark side of greed and offer us a fair rake , i think every poker player will act as a promotor of his site basically for free.

I will promote the crap out of Galfonds poker site and so will most poker players if it's a good alternative. Party poker was once the dominate site and look were it is now. A former shell of its success. The very same thing can happen to pokerstars.

speaking of party poker, they might actually contribute to an improvement one way or another. i'm not really thrilled with their announcement of an improved reward program, but any site with the intention of stepping up their game in case amaya hits rock bottom will make the market more competitive. and it's pretty much the lack of competition that enables those greedy hacks to bend over the community at will at the moment.

the problem is that the competition changes usually goes on the way of 888 or stars, party had good promotions and a lot of deposit bonus which increases rb ... looking foward if rio can make that kind of product too

Besides, the kind of firstworldpoker . com site I´m talking about should also crack down on players, who reside in countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Mexico and so on that provide little value in terms of net deposits.

The games would be so good.

Make poker great again.

also, to those IIT seriously supporting this idea:

segregation is bad. decreasing player pools are bad. i'm totally with you that the 24 tabling sergeys didn't exactly bring a lot of fun to the game, but banning whole countries that are known to have a lot of grinders is not gonna help the game at all.

How does an open, unsegregated game improve a fish's enjoyment and maximise retention and redepositing?

Why is the high-stakes home game community protective of their games and their fish? Are they just not getting that if all of the worlds' grinders could take turns sitting with their same fish, the game would be better and they would each win more??

1) it doesn't for fish who is not affected by segregation. but segregating complete areas/countries/continents will obviously lead to fish being excluded from the games as well. it's not like eastern europe has 100% mass grinders and 0% fish.

2) i was arguing on behalf of the community as a whole; obviously it's possible to come up with scenarios where a sub group of the community can increase their EV by being protective. i think it's a substantial difference between keeping fish you found to yourself one way or another, and a priori segregating player pools by geographical means. tbh i don't really get what your point is here.

If a country contains a net worse than average fish ratio, it is a drain on the ROW game quality, even if it is net losing.

That reduces player retention and market growth. How does that help global poker?

bc if u ban a country then u'll only ban the fish from that country. pros will vpn or find some other way to play if its profitable enough. Esp if ur talking about rus/belarus/ukr.

come on man, you can't be serious...

you can play that game forever. you ban one country with a net worse than average fish ratio, and guess what, the average shifts. then you ban the next one, and the next one...

only way to stop this madness is to take away any possible edges whatsoever, turning poker into a poor gambol that nobody can beat in the long run.

oh wait...

edit: also lol @ your use of the term global poker here whilst arguing in favour of banning certain countries...

You still get rid of a large portion of their regs, they will move to chinese and local eastern euro sites.

It also becomes a lot harder for bots to run as every ban makes it a massive hassle to get a new first world country account.

Now if most regs werent self-involved *******s that could spend 20mins with other regs finding the recent bots, we wouldnt need to ban russians but thats never gonna happen.

I doubt the average $5nl Ukrainian reg has the ability/resources to acquire and run a foreign account. Sure the midstakes+ ones will probably relocate.

its easier than u think bc there are already ppl/sites who sell accounts to different sites. banning countries would only create more business for them.
