We are committed to keeping you updated as the details are finalized, and want to share with you what we can, when we can. In that spirit, here’s the latest:

VIP Club Changes

The current VIP Club program will remain in effect until the launch of the new program, and rewards will be unchanged on January 1, 2017, for monthly status players. Supernova will become a monthly status, and will offer 28% in rewards. Here’s an overview of next year’s VIP Club changes:

Monthly VIP status rewards and requirements will remain unchanged
Supernova VIPs will earn 28% in rewards
Players who achieve Supernova status in 2016 will retain Supernova status until the launch of the new rewards program in 2017
For players who don’t achieve Supernova status this year, Supernova will have a monthly status requirement of 10,000 VPPs
When the new program launches, existing VIP statuses will be replaced by the program’s new reward mechanisms
An announcement of the new rewards program launch date will be made at least two months in advance
Effective July 1, 2017, StarsCoin balances will expire for players who have been inactive on all Stars platforms (PokerStars, Full Tilt, PokerStars Casino, BetStars) over a 6-month rolling period

What’s next?

Expect our next update to include more details regarding the new loyalty program, including how it will work and the timing of the launch.

Back when was first getting into poker as a really really recreational player, had a couple of sites take money from my account after not playing there for 6 months. And after that happened, the companies felt so shady to me, never went back.

Guess when you're just getting started and have yet to win anything, it can kind of feel like - playing means losing ... and NOT playing means losing too? Gosh ... maybe this isn't a good place to be

That was back when was first getting started with poker though - guess will have to see what the new reward system is like, and what the promos are like in the new year. But poker's gotten to such a state, haven't even opened the PS client all week ...

This is a poke in the eye compared the complete decapitation that most of us were expecting. I'm not unhappy to read this.

Ok just leave us with roughly 30% rb and whatever. lets hope poker can last for some time.

I really hope new system wont reduce that 28% number down to say 20 or 25. Not that i make that much via rakeback, but that would be an unnecessary spit in everyone's faces at this point.

yes this seems quite scummy, but what can u do, they don`t give that much of a **** about their customers, they`ve made it quite obviously clear in the past 2 years. (hey at least they announce some of these changes prior to almost instantly implementing now, they could`ve just taken ur points w/o any news 6 months later saying `well thats the update we came up with so deal with it sucker`).

Not that many businesses that openly disrespect their customers run successfully long term.

By the way, the only dormant accounts on pokerstars are RECs accounts....

So yea, they will go after everybit of money. And dont come and tell me that they try to catter to the RECs and that it's all for the better games.

I agree. If they were going to implement an 888 style of reward system it would be one thousand times worse.

It seems like one of Amaya's main goals next year is to get rid of dormant Stars Coins that exist in recreational players accounts. There must be millions of them.

By wiping out these Stars Coin Amaya will have less liability on their Balance Sheets

I was thinking the same but are they not basically saying things will stay the same apart from supernova until they implement the new system if u read page 1 of this thread they say rewards will not be based on monthly play anymore this would just be similar but changing the names!
I believe they are stalling because they want to pick up all the unused stars coin before implementing a new system with hardly any rakeback

Yeah, really disgusting behaviour by stars here. I don't usually bother complaining but that's too far.

Wonder how much that 6-month rule (especially the first implementation) is going to make them.

So does this mean that supernovas will transfer to the equivalent in the new system and continue to receive 28% or will the new mechanism mean a different level of rb?

its not a liability, its player pool segregated funds. has nothing to do with a sale just a money grab to increase stock price.

its basically a liquidation without closing your doors. until there is nothing left.

as i understand it will be 28% until the new rewards system so i dunno why everyone is so happy. My only hope is that in my country there is no casino/sportsbetting available so maybe they dont **** us tho its a thin hope.

In before $/€/£ balances will expire for players who have been inactive on all Stars platforms (PokerStars, Full Tilt, PokerStars Casino, BetStars) over a 6-month rolling period. Just one step away.

They seem to have this delusion that they can convert their poker playing base into table game degens. Can they not understand that we play poker because you can have an edge in it and make money over the long term? Surely offering rb for black jack isn't going to have much of an impact in incentivising people.

Ripping off dormant account starscoins is a seriously scummy move. They can dress it up however they want but it's just stealing money from people who are unawares.

Reading is not most peoples strongsuit. What you wrote is 100% correct.

Lemme translate for the rest:

"We decrease SN rewards to 28% and increase volume needed to achieve those rewards to 10k vpp. We will switch to a new system which will **** every single one of you at any time it pleases us. Sincerly, Lee Jones"

I have a feeling that the 28% mentioned will come with stringent, hard to attain requirements.
