Ok so they are/soon were the no.1 pokersite by a mile, with quite weak competition.
And now they are transformating to a online casino/sportsbook while there already very many of, and a lot have much better software,odds, value etc.
Pissing off more and more pokercustomers.
Im struggeling to understand how this is a profitable direction for them to take.

Its funny, since stars years ago changed how vpp's were distributed, which was bad for regs, followed by all the other rake/vip changes, also bad for regs, traffic has gone down more and more. I believe almost every Stars policy-change that was bad for winning players, was followed with declined traffic. Im sure there is a correlation.

Another thing i want to bring up is stars absurdly shortsighted and imo both simplified REG's and REC's point of view.

REGS: Poker need REG's for a reason much overlooked imo:

For every succesfull REG there are hundreds if not more who wants to be a succesfull winning player. They try, fail, some try harder, succeed for a while/stake, etc. And even that 1 winning REG was once a -EV player learning the game. When the games become unbeatable, pokerstars not only lose the REGS, but all serious players who wants to try to become a profitable player.

REC's: I believe many losing customers who are viewed as REC' by stars aren't players all just playing for fun. Many play poker to become better, believing if they once get good enough they can become winning players, and therefore choose it over gambling online. Not us much as the losing wannabee-regs mentioned above, will learn that the games are becoming unbeatable, but still many do. Just look at a random twitchpoker streamchat, this topic is talked about a lot, and the word is spreading fast.

A (new) pokersite who acknowledges this and act accordingly, will be very succesfull i believe.

TLDR: Stars is losing way more customers then REG's with changes who are bad for REG's, imo.

this new rewards system only can be bad for all regs and recs , they are just trying to make some people debate on the regs / recs thing but the main point is that they will be INCREASING THE COST OF PLAYING POKER ONLINE , i think everyone should make that the focus, on a side note im a nl200-100 winner over 7-8 years and im really planning to quit next year if they make some **** like 888 did

Also feels like they have some sort of under the table deal with 888 to control online poker rake its like 888 ****s everyone first and then pokerstars follows , this kind of practice would be investigated in the real world because its ilegal but since this is the interwebs and its a gray area we are ****ed

It's almost like the can do what they want to do, and the customers have to decide if they want to continue to frequent their business.

They only just changed/overhauled the VIP/rewards system for 2016 and there now going to completely change/overhaul it again for 2017?! Seems to me that, they didn't achieve there goals from the first overhaul so, are going to continue changing things until they get whatever the desired result is that there looking for. Wouldn't surprise me to see changes again in 2018 at this rate...

Looks good Stars, it's probably not saveable ....but at least you are trying. Can ignore most the people saying they will quit too. I mean...if PG wants to not burn his money RIO will have a similar anti mass tabling pro model anyway.
