I have seen a lot more japanese players at tables in the last year or so if that makes a difference. About the same as china/macau locations.

It's a brilliant move. Now that we no longer have televised cash games I fail to see why they would sponsor poker players. Do people like DN, Greenstein etc still bring new players to stars? I could understand paying people such as DN if they were doing the sort of promotional stuff that jcarver does. In general though I dont think that poker players can bring new players to the game in the way that celebrities can. Would love for stars to get someone such as Neymar to be an ambassador

1 off the biggest markets for japanese models/av stars is china, so 100% the right way to go if this fine lady is promoted in the correct way

Stars should be making her play a freeroll at least 3/5 times a week for the asian market. What u guys think the over/under would be for new players to sign-up in the 1st week of these freerolls are chinese 1mil.

Wonder why they went with a Japanese model vs. a Chinese one. Is it because Japan is a richer market and Japanese have more disposable income and room for growth? I used to live in Japan and poker is a really niche thing there now. There are poker players but when you say poker in Japan, most people think of cowboys playing 5 card draw. China has 10x the population of Japan, a big internet/gaming culture and gambling is accepted in the culture (moreso than Japan).
