Hi Guys,

It's been a while since I posted here, but I needed your guys opinion
on something as I don't think even the casual reg in these games can
really give me a straight answer.

Basically, this is regarding how beatable a particular Pokerstars home game
is. I am generally alright at gauging this for live games, but this is kind of a strange territory and as such pretty difficult to figure out (at least for my ******ed self).

So this particular game is a 1/2 200max 9-max table, but on average there are probably 5-6 players at the table, and it often breaks down to 3-4 handed for a while. The play is just god awful, and for people familiar with NYC club games, imagine this level of play (maybe, a bit better). I'd say about 50% of the players are willing to stack off and rebuy, and the game gets somewhat deep at times, but not astonishingly so.

So, the rake for this game is 5% uncapped, with 43% rakeback. What are your thoughts guys? In particular what do you guys think about the game being beatable in terms of how many players are sitting out of the 9-max, their tendency to reload and get deep, and overall level of crappy play?

Where do you draw the line in this kind of game, if there is one at that?

Thanks

Pokerstars run it uncapped?

A lot of live [private] games may be uncapped

See 20k pots where £1,000 has been raked [yikes]

They are only beatable because some of the players are massive whales

But the games don't run long - as soon as the whales don't come / are broke... no one else bothers any more - as it's no longer a game that is winnable / worth going to

Sorry that doesn't answer your question...

But as you get nearly 50% rake back... this is only 3% rake????? Uncapped. So it really is down to if you think you can beat players for more than the rake. As it's uncapped - it doesn't matter what people buy in for - as the rake is always the same
