Shouldn't the real question here be, what impact will losing the professionals/serious participants in the field have on the industry as a whole? Clearly, government doesn't care if it's the same as craps or horse racing or black jack or any other game in terms of profitability, they just want a bigger cut than they already get. It's a given that if people remain as greedy and as determined to stay away from rationale and logic, that things won't be sustainable the way that they are now. But if there's some domino effect where the entire industry dies out, from recreational players onward, that of course would be to everyone's detriment, including big government and the idea of this approach to "regulation".

no but it will be regulated in every eu country in the next years i guess, so as an european i can just switch around through all the different stars clients and i can only play with the weakest countrys..

also i guess they will put in massiv tv commercials with first deposit bonuses etc because they can now cuz its legal, rake will be higher but because its 100% legal and because they can promote their REAL money game now on tv the good players rois and winrates will get up
