Poker players confirmed political ******s. Thia doesnt have anything to do with whether a country is democratic or whether the US has sanctions. Many of these countries are good friends of the US government.

I blame the americans for the eventual destruction of mankind. they are the only ones that are stupid enough to do it.. seriously what the **** are they doing .. Stars is dickholes for not telling all the players at least 1 - 2 days in advance. instead of just from minute to minute. I do think the american goverment is the one that pressured the lawyers into telling amayo to shut these countries out.. Im so sad i don't get to spectate Zzeigler anymore

It appears to be a snap fold rather than the typical Stars method of planning everything for months in advance.

Even the drop down menu choices on the Real Money Deposit Options for Your Country page has not been updated. It still contains most of the prohibited countries (but not North Korea).

I think Steve doesn't care about players and says what's most convenient at any given time. He proves me right by ignoring this thread, the least we could expect is an explanation now things don't go as supposedly was the plan just a few weeks ago.

Not saying that it couldn't be a hastily action dictated from the top. But even if so, there's no excuse for him not explaining anything beyond the standard PR bla-bla while many loyal customers got locked out without any advance notice (contrary to what he let them believe just a short while ago).

So many countries estimated to be affected - there's a couple of members from PSO who were affected by today's block - so shocking to see that happen to people who have been playing on Stars for years

Morocco isn't a democratic country and it's a muslim country and you can still play on Pokerstars from there.

Maybe the fact that there are a lot of casinos in Morocco and that you can play live poker almost everywhere ( they even had a wpt stop in Marrakech ) makes it " legal " to play online poker. I don't know.

I was chatting to a guy from Iran at the table just a few weeks ago.

Asking him how he managed money online, made deposits etc.

Also whether there was much of a poker community in his country.

He was a really cool guy

I thought it was so strange that people from the land of the lolfree couldn't play on Stars, while this cool guy from Tehran was making a mockery of his oppressive government by raising it up with any 2 from the button.

Sad for him this little piece of freedom has been snatched away from him.
