At the player meetings in NJ the poker stars reps did say they wanted P2P transfers when getting back into the USA market and was something they would lobby for if they got a seat at the table...... They did bring up that the government will likely not allow P2P transfers due to fear of money laundering and fear it could be a way to fund terrorists....... saying that they made a deal though is pure speculation

no doubt that it is a smart decision to not risk to get back on the US market. but what sucks is that the DOJ and the conditions they are setting affect also other parts of the world. so whats our benefit in europe? player pools get even smaller. the us will have their own market and player pool anyways so why would i care?

If you follow senator ray lesniak of NJ though, he doesn't just want the USA market for Pokerstars either. He wants NJ market to pool with other countries also. This might be good news if the dropping of these markets will lead to the USA joining the ROW player pool now... granted probably still far off in the future...

I know the US is the centre of the universe but this is more about the UK rules than speculative stuff re bad actor in New Jersey.

The worry here is the lack of a real list. William Hill back in March left 55 markets that have a lot of cross over with this BTW, but they gave us a list.

The Stars FAQ is carefully done to not include a country list or even name your own country, for me that reeks of a rolling programme not a one off.

The focus here is Canada but Aus and Russia are the clearer cases that sit with this group of countries in terms of their laws.

My guess is that the banking systems of these countries are just too shady to continue offering services. Especially if they are trying to enter the US market, they have to be careful about allowing countries which are known to funnel terrorist money.

This is disgusting. I'm from Egypt and we have a large number of online players here. In fact, there are hundreds of really old school regulars (since the Party Poker days).

What's even more baffling is that Egypt has over 25 casinos. These things are never a problem here. Banks are okay for us to use our credit cards for gambling and all the rest of it.

The most annoying thing out of all of this is that countries in my region like Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria are still permissible to play on Stars and Tilt.

Gambling is banned in Algeria and Tunisia only has 3 casinos in 2 cities!

Freaking ridiculous.
