wtf. i havent read this whole thread yes but this list is ridiculous, list may have just as well been created by the CIA to prevent "terrorists" from moving funds around. How stupid is that.

Looks to me like Amaya conducted an internal review with the assistance of some professional 3rd party suppliers, ie laywers, etc and were prob advised to pull out of these countries/locations.

Disappointing that they didn't give notice, but if they are "black or grey markets" as mentioned in thread -- stars can't really come out and say we're pulling out of soandso country -- as it seems as though they should not have been there in the first place?

Who knows, I'm just speculating.

ok most funny part of this.

My friends living cyprus (turkish side) he can not play and mailed them. the answer is funniest ever seems u never logged pokerstars from cyprus. jesus he even live there 10 year.Bc of using turkish ip system they think they live at turkey. lets see if they can solve problem , we can move there .I just closed my place there . running good lol .

I'm going with Russia next as far as big countries go, but Canada probably isn't far behind.

Possibly, although Nigeria is not on there. Only glanced at list tho. Haven't checked any others.

wasn't there speculation that kim jong il died from a heart attack after a bad beat on stars in a wcoop or smth like that lol

Actually, playing online poker in the US is NOT illegal and never has been. It is only illegal in the state of Washington.

What is illegal, was for the banks to send (only send) money from a bank account to a gambling site. The player would suffer no repercussions if the bank sent this money and of course there was no issue with playing on the site itself.

My guess is that they have combined a number of countries' lists to keep everyone happy.

My mistake, i knew it was illegal in Washington as i travel to Seattle a lot, and just assumed it was the same in the rest of the US.
