Yes, essentially, Pokerstars bypassed US law of debit transactions coded as gambling. They made it look like I bought goods through a processor in Australia I think. This was their (POKERSTARS) doing without my knowledge. They could have told me that I couldn't fund using debit and I could have still played (player to player, freerolls etc..).

I'm guessing something similar has happened today with Iran.

But it was illegal in America....it is not illegal in Turkey.... the government of Turkey had no say in this.

Malaysia, Bangladesh, Iran, Turkey, Nigeria so far I have read from the other threads.

Ironically, poker essentially was invented by ancient Iranians. The game was know as As-Nas. I did a paper on this in college. But hey, at least they lasted longer than the US. GG Iran.

These are all black markets with pretty clear laws banning (or restricting to a state monopoly) all remote gambling.

I just cant really see pokerstars pulling out of any country without good cause look they don't provide poker to players out of the goodness of there heart they provide the service for the same reason every business does to make money.

without wanting to get to political i will just say that there has been significant Islamic uprising and movements through out the past few years. especially with ISis or however it is spelled. maybe they dont want to expose themselves to risks associated with that or maybe its technical legal issues.

pulling out means pokerstars get less money they need a good reason to do that.

This isn't entirely true. There are multiple turkish websites where you can bet on sports like football.

Although yes gambling in Turkey is "illegal" the government more or less turns a blind eye on internet gambling.

I can't believe the Turkish government has had any say in this happening. I will have more concrete info in the next 24-48 hours, but just don't/can't believe the Turkish government had any influence over this decision.

In other news, i haven't been able to login into my Full Tilt account for about 5-6 days. It keeps saying my password or account name is incorrect even though i know i am typing it in 10000% correct. I wonder if this is why i haven't been able to access because of this impending **** fest.

I just received an email from Pokerstars. They have COMPLETELY avoided answering my question.

I wrote this to them in original email...

"Dear pokerstars,

Can you please inform me why you ceased real money services in Turkey and why?

Also why I didn't recieve any prior warning to it being shut"
