pokerstars just sent me an email saying they just cancelled the first stop of the lapt tour! with 1 month to go, ive already bought all tickets for me and my whole family!

this is ridiculous.

ps: they didnt even post about it, ive sent an email asking about the schedule, and they answer me saying its over.

nice way to get back to the old tours.

They really do seem to have lost the plot.

The UKIPT was a really popular tour and they ditched that too. Last week's London Festival showed that the demand is still there.
Grosvenor and Party are making them look silly.

OP I hope you get some compensation for your travel.

I had a feeling this might happen when they stopped sats to Chile. As Pete said so much for their credibility when they said they were recomitting to their Live Events.

Party should be taking full advantage of this and fill the vacuum.

Pokerstars is starting to implode. They chased away their most loyal grinders by treating them like 6 years-olds; rewarding them with 2 cents(and a very nice graphic) after busting a $50 MTT. Their plan worked, they replaced the grinders with recreational players, but they have no money; they're playing $0.55 Knockout tourneys.

Sunday Milly had a $1.2 million overlay last night. The high rollers aren't playing at Stars any more. They've let most of their pros go. The bean counters are in charge now. It's not a poker site any more.

I have no sympathy. Let it burn.

Wow, how can you take that position. Sometimes you get 1 T$ in those fancy little chests as well, that's a free spin n go!

If I'm extra lucky I get over 70 starscoins from a chest so I can play the deal

Not really a surprise that the Milly had an overlay and the Storm went over by 40%

This has nothing to do with the recent Chicago Joey thread and controversy regarding pervasive bottling and collusion

I have a good friend who lives overseas and he told me lots of his friends that play regularly on pokerstars have seen a huge decline in how they treat its players. Canceling that first stop on the lapt tour though so close to the start date is really ****ed up. There needs to be some accountability but it'll never happen.

Regarding pokerstars lack of communication about noteworthy events to players.. Evidently they have known since at least the begining of the Macau live poker festival that players can't get paid to their pokerstars accounts for any cashes in live tournaments in Macau festival- yet they decided this was information to keep internally and not tell players until they get to payout cage

Still no real reason for the cancellation though. Wonder if it was like what happened in Mexico (Nueva Vallarta) years back when gov't goons demanded more greased palms and bribes, etc. That is entirely speculation, but why else would it be cancelled after satellites already started running?!

Based on the offerings I kind of get the thinking that the prospect of cancelling it was on the table for a while. They ran a Sunday only Seat only satellite. No other direct sats through the week except sparse feeders to the Sunday. This is not the way Stars usually does business.

Is the whole tour cancelled or just Chile? Anyone have any idea.
