interested to see how the "quick start" feature is set up (top left)

i will back anything that makes things more fish friendly, and this is def an improvement on the current client

Can you explain how this is an improvement over the current client for the novice? Because i can give a number of reasons as to why it's much worse.

Requires user to click tiny fiddly scroll bars
Information crammed in small boxes becomes unreadable
Visually overloads the user with too much information
Alienates the current userbase (everything is different)
Gradients and thick borders everywhere (distracting)
No "seat me" button, have to click a specific seat, not totally obvious

... i could go on...

I think maybe people should reserve making judgments until they actually try it, instead judging it based on two screenshots

or provide clear reasons to us non-specialists why they think it's a bad interface, instead of writing stuff this

But i have to reiterate how bad i think this design is. It's an unholy abomination and whoever was in charge of designing it needs to be fired, then go back to school and learn what makes actually makes a good user interface
EDIT: ok, now I see that the poster above provided reasons...

simple categories, supplemented by a very user friendly table graphic. doesnt seem that complicated.

agree this could be a problem, but one that can be fixed easily

Visually overloads the user with too much information
disagree. its better than what we have now in the "holy wall of tables batman!" lobby. (also the quick start feature may negate this if you want to keep things simple)

dont care as long as fish prefer it.

Gradients and thick borders everywhere (distracting)
looks cleans and sleek to me

No "seat me" button, have to click a specific seat, not totally obvious

which is why i am interested in the "quick start" feature
.

Also when you're done setting up your filters, you're done setting up your filters. There is no point in having all those options there at-a-glance. Once you've selected ring game, holdem, no limit, 10NL you don't need to be able to see at a glance that you could also be playing omaha or PL of FL

It would be much better to have those filters in a combobox so that you can see at-a-glance what you're currently filtering and then click it to be presented with the list of options. This would (at least partially) solve the problem of visual overload and cramped screen space in one fell swoop.

jim, there is the "collapse" button. they may have thought of this, and have solved that issue. we wont know until we've seen the full client

Like the design.

I am only worried that it will break about every other software there, like tableninja, PT4 and HM2.

theres a collapse button right there for you to hide it which I would bet my whole roll ($8.65) its collapsed by default

Also in that filter frame seems to be icons on how to print the bottom frame of tables one looks like old way of printing it..

I think people are judging without even analysing the screenshot properly.

it looks pretty badass to me.

Doesnt look that bad IMHO, but I would like the current UI to still be an option. I mean just look at the table UI and how many options you got there, why not do the same for Lobby UI?

Also I think theres a lot of bad reactions because people dont like change. Just like with FBs timeline

Windows 7 is designed to be very tablet friendly and I think this is the direction the whole PC industry is heading.

From reading blogs etc from those that attended the Pokerstars Live Party on Saturday, I heard they will be incorporating features similar to Table Ninja where you can auto register for games.
