Anyone that disagreed with Limon always got treated like **** on here. Whether it was him being patronising or just an outright dickhead.

Dozens of our forum posters. For the last year or two, I doubt he had a post that wasn't self-promoting or insulting/condescending to someone, or both.

From what I've read, he used to be a good contributor on these forums, and some say he's a nice guy in person - that may be the case, but it didn't come through here in recent times.

I've learned a ton from reading posts from limon over the years. he used to comment a lot on my posts from 2009-10 when i was a total noob but always gave great advice and got me to think about things I remember i never even thought to think of. I've only played with him a handful of times in LA and he's always great for the game overall and always super sharp.

oh and agree w/ whoever said everything he does is for a reason and likely to make money. hope limon writes a book some day along w/ dgaf. I've never read a poker book to this day but those are 2 books that id snap read if they ever came out.

IIRC, the day he was banned on twitter a former colleague of his posted a photo with his full name on it. i thought this was related to him getting banned (going on a rampage), but I guess I was wrong.

For those lumping Limon and LATB together one must realize that Limon was the face of LATB and minority owner but definitely someone who didn't make the business decisions.

If you want some real insight into LATB listen to Dave Tuchman's podcast about it. He goes into great detail explaining how the Bike made consistently bad business decisions in dealing with LATB and its commentators. Decisions that led to his Andy Bart's near permanent exit from LATB.

Limon, the character, the beer drinking gambooler was great for poker. Still is great for poker. And when those of you that aspire to play this game for a living learn that providing entertainment, playful banter, and story telling at the poker table is just as important as the skills needed to beat the game, poker will truly have a chance to become great again. Poker needs more personalities, more heroes, more heels, more feuds, more **** talking. The second it becomes more WWE like with its stars cutting promos talking **** on one another, is the second it becomes more relevant and could actually draw television ratings. Limon was/is a breath of fresh air for the game, all you veggie burrito eating, scarf wearing toting backpacks and man purses talking about vegan diets, poker strat, or your next upcoming tournament package, and stupid prop bets at the table are boring as **** and a brutal case of herpes for the game. The ones that just sit there with ipads and headphones are even worse, lets just call them aids. It's too bad Limon doesn't play tournaments, he is the sort of guy that would make a great ambassador for the game. Most of these other losers with no personality they prop up are just flashes in the pan with their bankrolls slowly winding back down to zero as the game passes them by and dusts them. If they cut Limon it was a big mistake. Players like him and I will be holding court, drinking beers, and having fun at the live cash games well into our golden years. That's a fact.

Most of what you say is spot on IMHO, But there were times when his presentation style just got to be too much to stay entertaining or informative. I would simply just turn down or off the volume or take a short break from LATB till I could take it again or he calmed down a bit. Eliminating him totally seems way too much IMHO. Maybe he would not or could not tone it down enough. Seems a loss for him , LATB, AND for us in the end.

ChicagoJoey mentioned having a contract in the last PLO show. Is he the permanent replacement for Limon as a PLO commentator?
