That's a lot of money. I wonder what it was loaned for? Interesting.

Yau must be absolutely crushing to lend out that amount.

If you can afford to lend that amount without collateral it doesn't hurt that much. If you can't but you do anyway you are an idiot.

Better to get the whole thing.

I’m not so sure bare-knuckle boxing a knocked out opponent is wise. Brain damage and death are possibilities.

With the network available to him, I can’t believe no one told Rampage this was probably the dumbest decision he’s ever made

Ugh..... hearing this is going tonmake me say something that is both true and hurtful.

First of all, Rampage is a very good human being. One of the best. The world would be a far better place if more people were like him. Absolutely.

That said, poker and winnings do funny things to people. Playing poker requires players to turn off a part of their brain which worries about money. Money becomes this abstract thing. Almost meaningless.

I like to tell the story where I will go to the grocery store and see the price of a gallon of milk and think to myself that $10 is absurd and I will refuse to pay it. However, put me at a poker table where there is $200 in the pot on the river (maybe even less!!!) And my opponent bets $40 and I absolutely know I am beat, I will still call wanting to see what he has.

Money is meaningless. It is just big blinds and chips.

So when Rampage makes an obviously stupid loan to someone and it ends up blowing up in his face, I understand it at some level. It is just chips.

I am not a great tournament player. I know this. However, I am a good enough poker player that it wouldn't be surprising for me to donk my way into a large tournament win.

My biggest fear is that in the moment of collecting my obscene winnings, I would do something obviously stupid like Rampage did. After all, it isn't money, it is instead chips. Chips come and go.

so the terms were apparently 29k in interest per month on a 450k loan. the saying that "its hard to scam an honest person" applies here, anyone who would agree to a loan on those terms is obviously not a creditworthy person and red flags should immediately be going off, but Rampage was so blinded by greed and the $$$ he thought he was going to make that he failed to see any of the red flags, so its hard to feel too bad for him. other guy is obviously a scumbag too but i could have told you that even before this just by looking at one picture on his social media.

Looks like his career in loan sharing didn’t work out

Jesus Christ, there are few people in the world with that much money lying around who could possibly be stupid enough to believe some idiot on instagram will pay them 80% APY on a half million dollar loan. This is what happens when a dumb person sun-run parlays their way to being a millionaire in a year. If Rampage ever stops getting invited to these money laundering whale games, he will be broke in a matter of months

these guys are raking in money hand over fist on the apps, these are basically pyramid schemes where they are the top of the pyramid, and their vlogs are essentially a way to recruit new members to keep the money flowing.

Rampage and Mariano both went from playing 1/3 to the highest stakes in the US in like a year, they are decent at poker but not that good.

I’ve never loaned more than a couple of grand to another person, but I knew that individual well. I cannot imagine loaning nearly half a mil to someone that I wasn’t sure could pay it back.

This has got to be one of the dumbest loans I've ever heard of here. 80% APR lmao did Rampage really think those numbers made any sense to begin with. Incredible that he did.

I'm kind of shocked at how dumb some of the best poker players are. Also, how much money are the top players making that they can give out $450k loans , holy moly..

I hope he doesn’t. He will probably end up dead with how stupid he is with money.
