yeah Lon was ~fine in the pre-taped days but I don't see why they need him for livestreams. the past few years he has been a weak point for me.

tbh though right now im just tilted at the graphics being blacked out

Pretty disappointing handling of the stream and graphics tonight, especially considering it's been the bit behind the paywall thats had the problems.

They have acknowledged it on the stream now - but they never spoke about the all in hand they cut off in the other section at the end, so thanks to dankness for at least tweeting about it.

Is Norman Chad a part of the team any more?

I guess he is - but for the later days??? Or has he been cancelled for a tweet or something? It's hard to keep up... but as he wasn't mentioned much [almost at all] on he stream last night - I thought maybe he's no longer on WSOP mic duties?

Probably the later days thing. Like Ali and Nick are scheduled to come on today.

This was a favorite on one of the Day 1s:

Player has AQ. Ace-high flop. He calls a bet on the flop, bet on the turn, bet on the river. Opponent shows a set. Chat: "What a terrible call, what a donk, you have to know if the other player is betting all three streets, that hand is no good," etc.

An hour later...

Player has AQ. Ace-high flop. He calls a bet on the flop, bet on the turn, but folds on the river. Opponent had AJ. "What a terrible fold, if you're gonna call that flop and that turn, then you have to call the river," etc.

Even on today's stream, one player four-bet for 18K with A3, the three-better flatted with QQ, leaving himself about 26K behind. Flop comes 852. A3 guy jams, QQ guy tanks and finally calls. QQ dodges all 15 outs to double up.

The best part were the comments before QQ called. Stuff like "terrible shove by A3 there, makes it obvious he only has a draw." (Never mind that the shove is around 2/3 pot.) Another person said about QQ, "tough call, at best you're flipping."

On the hand where Doug Polk flopped a set of sixes, he got roasted for not folding preflop because "66 is a huge dog against a three-bet, you're either dominated or in a coin flip." Which is also funny because when the AK three-bet, the chat chided that player for not raising enough to get a raiser to fold.

Even at the end of this afternoon stream, there was a hand where the A3 guy from above turned 88 into a bluff on a 7623Q board with four clubs. The opponent had K2 for the third nuts, and pondered for a while before coming up with the call.

Among the comments: the guy with 88 overplayed his hand, because the opponent can't call with worse. Someone else said similar, that you can't bet 88 because "any club beats you." One of my favorites was along the lines of "that might work in your home game, but this is the Main Event." You know, as if there is no scared money early in the Main.

Of course, the biggest game is trying to figure out which comments are meant to be levels, and which are serious.
This reminds me of my old senior citizen father incredulously telling me that someone on the internet claimed the earth was flat and wanting me to get as worked up about it as he was.

Over 30 years ago I stopped being surprised that out of the entire population of earth, there are lots of people with stupid opinions who will voice them online. I don't find it entertaining at all to see moronic or contradictory takes in youtube chat.

But I guess I'm not their target audience; they are going for casual viewers (as I'm told anytime I have any criticism of these [terrible] pokergo streams).

Wait! PokerGo dropped the ball . . . AGAIN?

I dont believe it. I cant believe it.

Such a professional crew, reliable start times, reliable graphics that can handle full tables even in 4 card variants, the ability to switch to final tables where big names occur and not be stuck with no names . . . you're claiming THAT pokergo messed up last night?

I'm stunned.

(okay, I took the bait . . . but I waited)

As someone who just recently crossed into their 50s I often think for the past 20 years that I preferred the pre-internet days when you didnt know how many brain dead idiots walked among us. I mean, I always suspected they were out there, but I didnt know how many and have such concrete proof

It's gotten the point a bag of coke was found in the most secure building in the world with a known addict recently moving in and with a straight face grown adults are telling us they will never know who left it behind or whose bag it is. As if there arent cameras capturing every single angle of every single spot in every single room 24-7. Do they really think people dont know what really happened?

Pre-internet ignorance was bliss. It had its benefits

Start to finish coverage every single day, yes sir

Last year I don’t think they covered Day 1s because of building the set. But you guys shook you fist and yelled “how can you not show the year’s biggest tournament!”. So they show Day 1 and you gize were “this chit is boring!”

I’m so far behind in my watch, I’m still trying to watch the 50K PPC Day 4.

PokerGO is stone cold nuts

For the record, I take issue with the "this chit is boring" I never said that.

Oh, and Maria Ho is drop dead gorgeous and her voice is easy to listen to.
She comes across as fairly normal in her comments and has a grasp of the common player's perspective
Having her as commentator is possibly the smartest thing PokerGo has done.
Just need to show her face more often.
But everything else, guilty as charged

Nicholas Rigby at Hellmuth's table, I think that is one of the features.

Maria's voice is harsh on the ears, like a pinched nose talking and pitch of voice rises up and down greatly is also annoying, then on and on rambling. All around annoying.

Gize is a collective, and it was absolutely said by others. I don’t keep records in a spreadsheet who said what. But last year people did complain about the lack of Day 1s and this year people did say they were boring. So as a group, y’all are guilty as charged.

No one can possibly predict what Day 1 tables will good and as a matter of luck which will produce some sick Day 1 interesting hands and coolers.

is this going to be behind a paywall that gets to you to a graphic-less poker show, or will they stick to youtube today?
