Oh man, the chat (regardless of platform) is both the most tilt-inducing and most hilarious part of the live streams.
This was a favorite on one of the Day 1s:
Player has AQ. Ace-high flop. He calls a bet on the flop, bet on the turn, bet on the river. Opponent shows a set. Chat: "What a terrible call, what a donk, you have to know if the other player is betting all three streets, that hand is no good," etc.
An hour later...
Player has AQ. Ace-high flop. He calls a bet on the flop, bet on the turn, but folds on the river. Opponent had AJ. "What a terrible fold, if you're gonna call that flop and that turn, then you have to call the river," etc.
Even on today's stream, one player four-bet for 18K with A
3
, the three-better flatted with QQ, leaving himself about 26K behind. Flop comes 8
5
2
. A3 guy jams, QQ guy tanks and finally calls. QQ dodges all 15 outs to double up.
The best part were the comments before QQ called. Stuff like "terrible shove by A3 there, makes it obvious he only has a draw." (Never mind that the shove is around 2/3 pot.) Another person said about QQ, "tough call, at best you're flipping."
On the hand where Doug Polk flopped a set of sixes, he got roasted for not folding preflop because "66 is a huge dog against a three-bet, you're either dominated or in a coin flip." Which is also funny because when the AK three-bet, the chat chided that player for not raising enough to get a raiser to fold.
Even at the end of this afternoon stream, there was a hand where the A3 guy from above turned 88 into a bluff on a 7623Q board with four clubs. The opponent had K
2
for the third nuts, and pondered for a while before coming up with the call.
Among the comments: the guy with 88 overplayed his hand, because the opponent can't call with worse. Someone else said similar, that you can't bet 88 because "any club beats you." One of my favorites was along the lines of "that might work in your home game, but this is the Main Event." You know, as if there is no scared money early in the Main.
Of course, the biggest game is trying to figure out which comments are meant to be levels, and which are serious.
