It looks like that tournament may have just got down to 9 handed. Maybe they only show 6 handed and it will be on in a few hours.

Or maybe they decided to play final table tomorrow.

why are they obsessed with showing fts be small af and 6 handed and whatnot? thats cringe if they try to wait down to the final 6?

this is what their chat said I think

This TOC freeroll final table, they have used the terms garage poker and home game, at least a dozen times in the first 30 minutes. lol

they were comically awful with their cliches, especially Jaffe. youngest grand dad, street poker, garage poker, doesn't even fold laundry, it's anybody's game etc... every cliche out there, I was ready to throw a brick at my t.v..

Both were also very condescending, dogging the players talking about how little they've cashed for etc..., like they've never played poker before. Granted they weren't the top level GTO players (who could be pretty boring themselves) but they did earn a ring or bracelet at some point in the last year. This wasn't their first rodeo.

awful, awful announcing.

I watched a little of the free stream and was reminded of why I stopped watching the free streams last time; the commentary is awful. Nonstop talking about stupid crap, subscribe, click, have fun with us in the chat. I'm sure I'm biased, but do any adults who aren't shut ins or morons care about and participate in youtube chat? At least with the graphics, it is not too bad to watch with the volume muted...

Serious poker players are not the target audience for a free YouTube poker stream. The announcers did a good job of keeping it light and fun. They talked about food, biking, kids, dogs, Allen Kessler potential golf prop bet, and many other non-poker topics. They frequently engaged the chat (their only window into viewers) in many ways.

The PokerGO live streams are more geared toward serious poker players, though I could write a 1000-word essay on the many things that annoy me on those streams as well.

I’ll go ahead and say it - I prefer the old edited broadcasts with Lon and Norm.

They were more exciting as they only showed highlighted hands, no inane chitchat to fill the silence, and I did actually find them comical and enjoyable.

I realize it’s not the reality of poker with the abundant folding and downtime but it made for better watching.

Well, the free stream today is much different than the freeroll yesterday. There are good players at the final table, with Monnette, Shulman and Deeb. I am sure the commentators will have a more serious tone today.

Yesterday's TOC/freeroll live stream (whose announcers were critiqued in the thread) was on PokerGO.

Yesterday's YouTube live stream (whose announcers were critiqued in the thread) was a limit tourney final table.

The Limit stream was hilarious and also interesting from a sociopolitical standpoint, there was an undertone of Ukrainian support (last two players from there), the eventual winner mentioned he would be donating a certain portion of his earnings to the needy in his country. The nitty old man's (3rd) wife was complaining about how late it was, he was trying to bust and kept winning for a while . One dude (5th) claimed he regged the wrong tourney and then final tabled it. It was good to see final table 10-15bb play and just shows that you have to run good regardless of how well you played for the days before, I saw more turn and river 3 outers than I was expecting. Commentary was light and had to take up space because this was not a talkative final table, I thought it was ok. The stud will be a good watch this evening.

nut low take.

why would you watch edited footage that takes 3-4 weeks to come out instead of LIVE up to date with table chat etc LMAOO

I like the commentary teams so far of Brent Hanks/Ali Nejad and Maria Ho/Lon McEachern, more of them would be good.

For the reasons I mentioned. Why would you ask a question that was answered in the post?

Last year's main event coverage with the night shift was better than anything WSOP-related ever imo*. Part of it was the commentary, but a lot of credit is due to some of the insane players and their decisions lol. Not a fan of Lon or Norm for live stuff but certain pairings work OK. Ali is a good backbone for the crew.

Is it too much to actually have a dealer that knows how to pitch up cards?

I know they have to go in the proper box, but can't the players do the straightening.
