Maybe the November 9 was always a bad idea that lasted much longer than it should have? I didn't make your point at all because you clearly don't understand they had ZERO obligation to continue past this year. There was no option, nothing so they are still buying poker regardless of what your opinion is on how much they are spending on it.

Has it occurred to you that the November 9 has been dropped because it was simply a bad idea in the first place?

With ESPN now showing coverage on the actual day, instead of 2-3 months later in highlight packages, they can show end of day chipcounts on Sports Centre and build up interest in the coverage that way.

This move may not bring in the advertisers this year, but if the early days coverage is handled right this summer, it could do in years to come.

They were hoping the November 9 would become an event that casual viewers would tune into..like the Masters, or the Preakness, or even Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest ffs. It turned out not to be the case particularly because it went head to head with the top shows on television including Sunday Night Football and The Walking Dead. I mean, how much sense did that make?

Now, it's an actual 2 week event during the deadest time of the year for TV when casual viewers might actually tune in to watch poker over the mediocre competition. Also, ESPN's Sunday coverage will be in the afternoon which means that WSOP won't have to go head to head with heavy hitters like it did in the past. For instance, the season premiere of Game of Thrones would kick the **** out of WSOP on July 16th but the WSOP will be airing earlier in the day this year.

So.....

If I pay $20 I get pokergo coverage

But for ESPN [Lon&Chad] I need to also pay to subscribe to ESPN [?]

Yikes

Be cheaper to fly out to vegas and watch it live

When ESPN is live, pokergo is dark [?]

November 9 Participants in history
I got Joe Cada and Cliff Josephy.

Hurray!!!

To think back in the day I paid to watch the Jamie Gold FT pay per view online (I think $20 or $25).

The three month delay was the most ******ed thing imaginable for WSOP railbirds.

I guess day 1 of SHR Bowl is Free to check out how it will work on May 28th.

Plus the documentaries might be interesting.

Was checking out the dates - guess the Super High Roller Bowl and the WSOP all happen within 2 months, do they?

So maybe for anyone who was planning on subscribing for the WSOP coverage, they can watch the SHRB too if they start their subscription a little earlier?

Was looking at the fine print - maybe important for everybody to read before subscribing, because it looks like it's one of those auto-renewal services? Will maybe be very easy to forget about the app after the WSOP is over, so hope will not forget to cancel my subscription

I have no problem paying a subscription, I'd happily pay $50-100 for the whole series, but not broadcasting mixed games is a ****ing joke.

They should be broadcasting the final table of (almost) every tournament like last year. Who gives a **** about day one of some **** NLH tournament with a bunch of no-names?

Wow, last year I binge watched all but an hour or two of the November Nine. I'm going to have to think about how to handle this.

Has WSOP come out and said yet that they for sure aren't doing the wsop.com FT streaming? That would would be a major bummer

Could someone summarize what is being "broadcast" and by whom? (Sorry if this has been previously provided but I, and maybe others, am confused.)

Just align your sleep schedule with that of the tournament players, make sure all your bills are paid, and stock up on liquor/beer. There is a dinner break every night so you can either take that or use UberEats. Take bathroom breaks when the tournament players take them. Easy game.

The other thing that worries me, not that I really give a **** if there's no mixed games, is whether or not they're actually hosting proper VODs, and also whether it's going to be of watchable quality in Australia.

Last year I had to watch the fan-made VODs on YouTube becaues WSOP.com has no infrastructure over here and it just buffers endlessly, even on like 360p. Anything other than YT and Twitch is just garbage over here.

So, the business model is we have to pay $10 a month to watch an advert for 888, WSOP and Caesars? Ok then...

So there's no stream at all for like 90% of the events? That's awful.
I don't mind paying for good coverage, but I'm certainly not going to subscribe if they're just showing a couple of NL high-rollers.

I never liked the November 9 concept, good riddance.

Final table over 3 days is still terrible, just play the whole damned thing in a single day ffs.

What is this rubbish? Nobody thinks they need a cable plan to watch poker. It's been on WSOP.com in a much better format than they're doing this year...
