The correlation between those is unclear but I tend to think of them as negatively correlated. Losing players are most likely to go broke quickly, and more players are losing than winning (net of the rake).
- In a high-variance game the bad players have days where they win, so some of them stay around longer.
- In a low-variance game the bad players almost never win so more of them bust quickly.
Granted, a bad player who's running bad in a high-variance game will bust quickest of anyone, so it depends on what you mean by "people go broke the quickest in"--just a few people, or most of the player base?
