LOL, it's just so hard to do this... Why is it so hard

I was approved for PUA
I was able to request weekly payments for 3 weeks, all went through and processed.

$0 received. Now when I look at my page every week has been "Rejected". No explanation, no reason.

So something must be wrong with what I'm doing, just seems odd that they would approve me, allow me to request, and then reject

Did you file your weekly claim? Not all states require that but most do.

Yep, I file it every week.
I've done 3-4, I fill it out correctly, it asks for weekly search contacts so I put the local casinos... Which is the reason why I'm "approved" for PUA.

Play poker, can't play at casino.

Each time the requests go through

In NV Gov had previously waived all search for work requirements until 5/16, you just leave that part blank. Awesome news just came minutes ago, it will be extended until further notice.

Now If I can just start getting the money. lol

MA doesn't ask for any verification or requirement. You just hit no, no, why button(listed reasons), yes, get paid.

So all 6 of my weekly claims that show went from "Rejected" to "Payment" with the amount next to them overnight.

Nothing in my bank, but has to be a good sign, right?

Odd though that they all said rejected, I did nothing, and then it changed. I'm starting to think these gov't agencies may not be ran in the best possible way

Update, if anyone is interested.
I received my first full weekly payment of PUA, still shows that I should get 5 additional weeks that say “Payment”, so we’ll see.

I have a few friends who have seen like 2-3 weeks randomly show up at once, but seems like the PUA eventually works

Helping an independent contractor I use all the time apply this morning. I am their sole source of income and I have no work for them to do for awhile. Got all the way to the end with some weird glitches along the way. Got everything in and then the session just randomly timed out at the very end. Couldn't figure out if anything was saved anywhere or they had to just start the whole thing over. Gonna just wait a bit now before trying again, we are both pretty frustrated.

Yes thank you! We calmed down haha and went back in. We had to essentially do the application over again but a ton of the info was already in there saved so it was quick. This time it worked and they now show claim active.

Update on my Illinois PUE. Was finally able to file my claim on Monday 5/11 and was able to certify for the last 9 weeks this morning 5/17. Hopefully see some cash in bank shortly. Thanks to everyone for posting your updates and info. It's good to see that our little niche was not left out of this part of the Covid relief package.

Where do you go to file the weekly claim?

I am assuming you already signed up for PUA yesterday at the new site https://www.employnv.gov/ right?

Even tho they said you could file weekly starting today, it is showing it will be a couple weeks possibly. But since they had repeatedly said the last few days that payment start on 5/23, I am hoping that means they will pay all the back pay then and then when the weekly filing part is fixed you can file and get the last week or so.

Hoping on the news later today there are some updates about what is going on.

If anyone has had any luck in NJ please reply. They made it so difficult for GIG workers. Many unrelatable questions if you just play poker or bet sports. I applied and it has said pending for over 21 days. They sent me a pre-paid card. But apparently they send these to everyone whether your claim is approved or not. No money on card obviously. An unemployment insurance instructions and appointment notice. They never sent me an email requiring more information. This is what it looks like. What bothers me is there is no date of claim. Forget about calling. I have never heard of them answering a call.

Claim Status: Pending (Claims take up to 7 days to process.Information is updated nightly.)
Date of Claim:
Weekly Benefit Rate: $
Remaining Balance: $
Next Payable Week:
Last Week Paid:
Last Paid Amount: $

Ha, it's all super weird.
I got a lump sum for past weeks, and the number made zero sense.
It's not divisible by the amount per week I get, it's not an amount where taxes were taken out, etc. Just a random number more than what I was expecting.

And like you said, they never update anything, the "correspondences" are vague, you never really get anything that says you did something right and they received your info... It's a cluster fukc

About the calling, for about 2 hours one day I called and I couldn't even get an on-hold slot.

The key to this is that once you get in the system and get your approval, you need to ride the wave and make sure you never check the wrong box. There is no way a live human is looking at these things for more than thirty seconds...unless something is way off or you check the wrong box. Don't be surprised if this is extended multiple times. Make sure you were "affected by Covid-19" for the key weeks that they add the 600, which is basically from the end of March through the end of July. If you stumble upon this thread later in the year, and they have not extended the 600, you will still get back pay, but you will only get the 600 for those weeks between late March and late July. That is low five figures that you need to make sure you snag.

If you are unsure how to fill out the form, spend the time to get your game plan so you get accepted. If you know anybody who has never worked, never paid a dollar in taxes, and otherwise would have zero chance of ever getting unemployment, then I have good news for them...they will get approved, and my calculations show that this is essentially 17K-ish of free money over the 39 weeks. There may be an opportunity to help others, including homeless, who could use a break in life, and absolutely have no idea this money is sitting there waiting to be picked up. There may even be an opportunity to help some people from start to finish, and say: "I am going to show you how to get this free money without even having to tell a falsehood, and if you want to throw me a bone when you get paid, then you can do so". I've been making sure I have a conversation with every hard luck person I see. I quickly explain the deal, show them the website, and wish them luck. There won't ever be another time in history where you can get money like this just my logging into a site and answering a few questions. Don't waste the opportunity.

P.S. if you ever log in to make a post, press submit, then get that sinking feeling because you have been automatically logged out and your post has disappeared, do not panic. Back out of the window, and you will likely see your text. Copy it, log in, and paste it. Get in the habit of copying your important longer posts before hitting submit, so you don't lose the post.

Congrats. It definitively is a good sweat for most people. It isn't something you want to miss out on, when bailouts are flying everywhere. The people who are getting the worst of it are the grocery store workers, Wal-Mart workers, Amazon warehouse workers, etc. It is really unfair.

Miss it Danny...miss it...mamamammmiss it..miss it.

This thread was created for self-employed professional poker players who lost their opportunity to earn a living from poker rooms being closed due to the COVID-19 virus. We are eligible under the PUA portion of the CARES Act.

What you are encouraging is blatant fraud. This is why we can’t have nice things.

This is the problem with PUA. It happened before in Louisiana after Katrina when developers exploited the pool of money and as usual the people who really need it, the people in the ninth ward saw little of it. It also happened during the financial crisis when people walked away from mortgages and were able to buy the same home a few years later at a much lower price. Imagine buying a house for $750,000 put very little down. Live in it for a year, walk away from the mortgage owing hundreds of thousands and buying almost the same house a few later for $250,000. If you put a lot of money down and were forced to stay there your probably even on your purchase. The other guy is now sitting on hundreds of thousands of equity due to huge increase during the recovery. Every crisis has been exploitable thanks to lawmakers who never close loopholes.

Let me explain something to you. Poker players are essentially scumbags, and nearly 100 percent of them cheat on their taxes. Nearly 100 percent of those looking for this bailout are playing online and 100 percent of those are committing fraud when they apply for PUA because not a single one who applies mentions anything about playing online.

Make no mistake, the level of tax fraud in all things poker is higher than every occupation except street walking prostitutes and drug dealers. It remains to this day the only activity where legends of the game openly talk about witnessing murders back in the day. It is essentially a lowlife activity, pursued by people offering zero to society. That is why poker advertisements are never from mainstream companies. They don't need your bust out lifestyles money. The reason you don't have nice things is because you are a poker player...i.e. likely a major life loser. The truth hurts.

The exact purpose of this Cares Act money is to help those who aren't generally in the system. A homeless guy filling out the application would be telling the truth, while almost all poker players would be telling lies. You know it, and everyone who plays poker knows it. There is not a more dishonest group of people in the country. It remains the only activity in human history where millions can be stolen without repurcusions of any kind. I will stop unless you want further humiliation.
