Massachusetts.

It looks like the states of Washington, Georgia and Alabama also have their PUA online. Several others have announced theirs should be up by April 30.

Good stuff!

If others can update when their states PUA platforms are online that would be helpful for others.

Keep in mind that you still need to request your weekly benefits each Sunday for the prior week to receive that weeks payment in most states. Michigan I see is actually bi-weekly.

What I would like to know is, NV is supposed to have the system ready to apply Early to mid May, I was under the assumption that once you apply you would get all the back pay, retro along with your 1st check, within a week after being accepted.

But somebody on twitter is adamant that it will be another 30-45 days after that to start getting money once you get approved.

What evidence did he give? It’s standard for Unemployment Insurance to receive all of the backdated weeks in your first check. Once those who are approved this week go in the request payment the money should be in the account by Tuesday of next week.

looks like they just past another relief bill with nothing for the actual tax payers of the us. i think these bills will be exploited by corporations and do little in the way of keeping small businesses open. the only good that will come out of this is the light that it sheds on the rampant , unbridled corruption of the united states " government and friends " . get ready for some orwellian / red dawn esc days ahead folks.

no real point / end ramble.

This was about NV specifically, he said:

"IT will be 2 months before independent contractors and self employed will see benefits from unemployment can’t apply for another month if lucky"

Then I said:

"Should be able to apply before mid May and then get paid shortly after, not 2 months from now."

Then he said:

"Apply mid may then takes 30-45 Days to process for GIG workers til benefits get paid nearly 2 months"

It is state dependent when they get the platform online but once you are able to apply it has been processed the next day in each of the cases which I’m familiar. There is zero reason why it would take 30-45 days. He hasn’t a clue what he’s taking about imo.

Well since NV Governor doesn't look like he is opening things up on May 1st, he should be extending the waiver for not having to put in a search for work form past the current end of April.

Once I see that it really works and get the back pay and with the bonus $600/wk start getting $800-$900/wk for sitting home and watching TV. I will be happy, he can keep it closed as long as he wants. lol

Haven't even got my $1200 yet either, keeps showing that they can't determine on the get my payment website. Such a joke.

The "get my payment" website on IRS was updated yesterday and finally showed I am approved and showed my bank account number for the transfer and said they will update the date of transfer soon. Talking about the $1200.

Lucky you, ive filed twice now first saying ineligible and then current one telling me i need to contact DETR on the phone in order to submit my application. Problem is you cant get through on the phone its just busy 24/7 so i cant submit anything. Also i did get through to their general help number and the person sounded miserable and basically said i just have to keep calling the other line thats busy at all times, gg.

I dont know why they cant set up the unemployment office to be sterile, 6 foot distancing, whatever and open up the physical office?

Should I still file if I'm a live player making thousands online during this? Seems like a gray area.

Massachusetts PUA payments (and the 600 weekly), including all back weeks, hit bank accounts today. Is there any logical reason to believe that once a functioning system is up and running it will take 2 months?

They updated the get my payment website again tonight and finally shows my $1200 stimulus will hit my bank on Wednesday. About time. lol

Now hopefully the NV unemployment gets fixed early May like they said.

It looks like New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire now have their PUA link up online over the weekend. California is also up (or was already up).

Connecticut says theirs will be online by 4/30. It doesn't seem like Florida has a clear response yet which isn't much of a surprise unless I'm missing information.

Yea, my sister that is Self Employed in Florida hasn't got a dime yet, the process is unclear.
She thinks she is getting money in the next 2 weeks, we will see.

I did see only 16% of all UI claims were paid so far in Florida as of last week.

Nobody seems to have a clear definition of what "partially unemployed" means for self-employed/1099. If you have a reduction in hours/compensation expected, are you eligible for unemployment? Can't seem to find a definitive answer. I did see this on the PA website:

https://www.uc.pa.gov/COVID-19/CARES.../PUA-FAQs.aspx

"You worked as an independent contractor with reportable income and COVID-19 has severely limited your ability to continue performing your work activities and/ or has forced you to suspend such activities for one of the above COVID-19 reasons."

Well that is a very large gray area that pretty much anyone should be able to claim, no?

Under new sba guidance, professional poker players are now eligible for ppp loans. Apparently this change was made recently - I spoke to a Vegas cpa today to confirm it.

“Part III.2.b. of the Third PPP Interim Final Rule (85 FR 21747, 21751) is revised to read as follows: Are businesses that receive revenue from legal gaming eligible for a PPP Loan? A business that is otherwise eligible for a PPP Loan is not rendered ineligible due to its receipt of legal gaming revenues, and 13 CFR 120.110(g) is inapplicable to PPP loans. Businesses that received illegal gaming revenue remain categorically ineligible. On further consideration, the Administrator, in consultation with the Secretary, believes this approach is more consistent with the policy aim of making PPP loans available to a broad segment of U.S. businesses.”

Happy hunting . . .

It would seem to me that one would need a ton of creativity, if not outright fraud, to get past the general requirements. This is directly off the application form.

General Eligibility (If the answer is no to either, the loan cannot be approved) 
The Applicant has certified to the Lender that (1) it was in operation on February 15, 2020 and had employees for whom the Applicant paid salaries and payroll taxes or paid independent contractors, as reported on Form(s) 1099MISC, (2) current economic uncertainty makes this loan request necessary to support the ongoing operations of the Applicant, (3) the funds will be used to retain workers and maintain payroll or make mortgage interest payments, lease payments, and utility payments, and (4) the Applicant has not received another Paycheck Protection Program loan.

Georgia: I got two different mailings last few days. I have already submitted documents for PUA online with no response ( just a few days ). One was a letter asking for earnings information in recent times, which I filled out and mailed back. Other was a letter denial of benefits, which I assume was for regular unemployment.
I am not bothering to call yet, sure they are bombarded, and will not call unless I see PUA is having issues for me personally, or a couple weeks pass with no communication.

Rhodyguy - no question that self employed individuals are eligible, so there's no requirement to have employees other than yourself. Your profits are used exclusively for payroll. I don't see how either of those reps require either fraud or creativity, and again I ran this by a vegas cpa who said that he has advised several local pros on applying. I'm not super confident that I'll get paid but feel comfortable trying. Will update with results.

got an email from my senator today about this:

"North Carolina independent contractors and self-employed workers out of work because of COVID-19 can now apply for federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance at des.nc.gov."
