So you give up a what....16 to 1 shot to make a million dollars (100K for 2nd, $85K for 3rd, even 1st voted off gets $2500 and $10K just for showing up at reunion show) plus car as the winner (plus final 5 or 6 also have shot at car)

so you can play the WSOP? The WSOP is every year. Chance at TV stardom and 16 to 1 shot at 1 million is maybe once if you are lucky. And you pass it up.

Who says poker players are intelligent.

Must be the most idiotic move I have seen in some time. I hope this is a level cause if not it is the biggest mistake this person has made in their life!!!

Oh wait....if he wins the Main Event at odds of 6000 to 1 he would have made a better choice....OMFG

Wins Survivor: 1 Million, Car
Appears Survivor: Guaranteed 12,500 plus other prizes
Youngest WSOP Bracelet winner: Nothing (most people dont even know who it is now)
Mistake of a lifetime: Priceless

I agree. If your reasons for declining were to not miss the WSOP, this is a pretty ridiculous move. Daniel passed on it the year JRB went supposedly and that just doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe not the EV of the show money wasn't enough for DN to decline playing the WSOP, but the exposure and EV from that definitely should have been enough to go for it. He would have been great on that show and would have been a much better portrayal of a poker player than what JRB did for us.

Sure most of us, myself included, are a bit on the lazy side, but JRB was just ridiculous and then tried to pass it on as strategy. Lol.

I think Bond18 would be a good fit. Only problem may be if they read his Blog

The other problem Bond would have (although not really a problem) is once it airs, all that time he has spent practicing his Game will be for nothing as he won't need to use it, as I’m sure that being on survivor is ++++++++++EV for pick up.

i don't understand why they havent called me yet!

OP, I just want to say I think you're nuts to pass on this opportunity so you can play in some stupid donkaments.

And tell them to call me, please.

I did not realize the PPA just gave away people's information like that.

Be pro-active man, you should have the contacts to know who the OP is correct? Get his Survivor contact and get in touch with them yourself, then make your case.

I think that you trying really hard to get on the show would be a very good thing in their eyes.

Jamie Gold would do great on Survivor. Sammy Farha would probably do well depending on whether or not he can deal with the outdoors and the challenges.

Being great at Survivor is largely predicated on people skills and the ability to manipulate others to act in your best interest. Most online players don't possess the right skill-set.

Damnit!

If this post is a level I'm going to hate myself in the morning.

OP, if you're ****ing with us I hate you but well done.

****ing deeb and AJK making semi-serious posts sold me hook, line and sinker.

Hasnt nicaragua already been casted?? I have watched half of an episode once so I have zero idea???

AJK, this is a new account I dont think they allow Pms. Ill just post a lil more, or maybe the mods can enable my Pm privaleges. All you guys who are saying its dumb I passed. Its probably dumb, but its definalty -EV for me to go and try to make $455,000+ 25k car. They have alternates and such for this show there is no guarantee id be on. But you have to be suquestered from begining of June till when they start filming. Other reasons are the cash games, and all. The producer told me, they were well aware of everything going on in the United States and they would of had more of us sooner if not for it being illegal here. Hopefully by the time the season airs in September itll be legal here. I told her I would pass, and she told me that I am what they were looking for and they would if they wanted someone like me again call me and thats good enough for me. And all you guys who wanna get on. They have not casted ANYONE yet. And AJK, everyone who wanted to get on I do not understand why you would not call up the casting department at CBS. Numbers on there site. Or Sumbit an application, all you need to do is fill it out took me 15 minutes and make a 3 minute video. They look for uniquieness. And all of us are involved in a pretty unique field. Dont think though they are gonna put on some degenerate (Lol cause Bellande was on) who if people look on the internet see is busto. They asked me if I went on the show how id describe myself; I would say I treat poker as a business and I do whatever i feel is profitable. They told me thats the approach they want. There are casting calls where you actually get to interact with producers and talk to them for 3 minutes and explain why you should be on. There is plenty of time. They make last minute decisions concerning the cast. So if you wanna go on apply. Im gonna call up the lady who approached me about it and ask her to expand a little for me cause Yall open some valid points its once in a lifetime chance. I was dead set on not doing it and now it might be a cool oppurtunity. And ill ask if they made progress with casting someone and give em everyones name. Holla guys.

I want to see Josh Field on it, or Bond, or good2cu, for completely different reasons.

Even though JRB is the ultimate busto degen, I thought he did a decent job on survivor. I have a feeling a successful online grinder would lack the social skill to get far in the game. definitely not lasting as long JRB

Honestly, if you're into doing this I think you're completely insane for turning down the opportunity. While I can understand not wanting to miss your first wsop, this is definitely a legit reason imo. Also you have to factor in how much more appealing you will be to potential sponsors when you can get that kind of prime-time exposure, regardless of whether or not you can patch up on the show itself.
