Gus would make a lot of sense. Decent looking guy, speaks really good English, athletic (or at least has the right build), high profile enough to get attention but still probably an unknown to, oh, 75% of the viewing audience of Survivor. Anyone know if the stories about his mom are true?

Right. Which I mentioned, about 10 posts ago, followed by a guy posting an article that indicates Gus IS an American citizen.

Gus misses Main Event

Denmark's biggest poker names miss the rest of the World Series of Poker because of illness in the family

World's largest poker tournament begins later today in Las Vegas, but the 2010 edition of the World Series of Poker Main Event is outside Denmark's most famous poker player Gus Hansen.

His mother is seriously ill and in such a situation, he chooses to prioritize time with family instead of poker.

- Of course I would have played the Main Event, but it seems that more and right now it is more important for me to be with my family, "he ekstrabladet.dk.

So while other Danes over the next nearly two weeks trying to go to Peter Eastgate's footsteps and become the poker champion Gus Hansen will be at home in Denmark.

s22 filming is scheduled to begin today or tomorrow, so no one would know whether or not a poker player was on.

Yeah I think he'd have a really good shot at winning survivor and would be a good representative of poker players in general.

I don't understand all the serious responses to the OP. Are we all just believing people who come on and claim to be some unknown high stakes player who was personally contacted to be on survivor now?

If you go for an older poker player, I would say Eli Elezra. He seems very crafty and that is what wins out in Survivor. Well, I haven't seen any Survivor since season 1 so maybe the game has changed a bit.

The game has changed since then. Nowadays, you want to fly under the radar and not have any game play at all. Then, you just hope and pray you end up against the guy that that took everyone else out which will leave a bad taste in the jury's mouth (how dare you blind side me!)
