I'm not buying that. Risking 30k to save 3k, is NOT an upside in a scenario where you have zero personal relation or knowledge of the person you are giving it to.
Coming on here to smear Brad is one thing, but OP doing it when he's contributed to his own demise handily is another. Like, 99% contributing to his own misery, the other 1% being his friend saying "oh ya he's good for it."
I've said before, and I only say it to prove a much broader point, and this case is just one more upon thousands of examples, but if I ever need to scam someone to make a lot of money, I'm going to choose poker players. What a blank check with zero threat of recourse. They will make zero attempt to try and collect from you, and the absolute worst thing they will do is post about you on an internet forum, where half of the replies will be against them anyway. Poker players are easier to scam than the elderly. They'll lend and risk 30k to a total stranger for no personal gain, but then when they lose it, they can't be bothered to spend the time or extra tiny fraction of 30k to track the person down and take real action. That is lolz.
