Sounds like this Sunday might be our last in the global pool? Anyone heard from GG on their date?

Have Stars said anything definitive about the date they are switching over?

Why wouldn't you play the Ontario games?

There's been a few screenshots of support saying the move is happening on June 28

Bovada / ACR / Global are still options.

I'm honestly pessimistic with ring-fenced cash games, I think the pool will be pretty garbage and ZOOM will unquestionably not be an option. Sure they'll be soft but how often will mid stakes games run is anyone's guess, might have 2 or 3 $200nl games running during peak times but that's not very inspiring.

I play at another casino with same rake and I’d be really surprised if I’m not +EV in the game even with the stupid rake %.
The rake is absolutely garbage even for crushers. May be beatable but their hourly would be significantly impacted if they're regs.

If you want to live off live poker, your best option is probably 2/5+ at Niagara.

I think this is almost definitely going to be wrong based on what I've seen from 200nl games on 888 and Party. During peak I've seen up to 8-10 tables of 200nl running and almost always 3+. And I would assume the majority of players still haven't touched either of those sites w/ PS and GG still serving the global market.

Maybe worth someones time as a prop player or something but online is so soft in ontario no one will have a better hourly playing live poker at 1-2 or 2-5 at least with that rake wouldn't be surprised even at any rake.
The real pain in the ass is that you have to play such a stupid number of hours to even find out your approx WR.
I might just mix both for awhile and see what happens.
Seemed worth playing before the pandemic at 2/5, but I think rake went up again since then. I wouldn’t bother with 1/2 and 5/10+ doesn’t seem to run anywhere but CNE and Niagara from what I know.
Often 2/5 games become 2/5/10 games, but there’s the $500 cap, so it just plays like a 50-100-ish bb game after awhile with a couple nit 20-25 bb shortstacks.
I was at a few of your tables today in the afternoon for a bit.

what do you mean? party and stars are not closing and will still have all of those games and probably most of the rewards. at those stakes it will be the same but with shittier players . there might not be much games at offpeak hours thats about it

Yep and today I Made like 1500$ online won an 888freeroll so didnt even pay for the 109$ buyin, got 3rd in that donkament for 1200 won like 300$ in cash games 3rd in another 50$ for 380. so why would i play 2/5 live for 20-30 bucks an hour Ontario online is a joke, seems kinda silly. Niagara might have some ok games but other then that you probably gotta get into a whale game. I definitely wanna make that trip some day for fun but it would honestly just murder my hourly. (im not the target playing 1/2 today but I was playing against him)

there is already 6-8 nl200 games running at peak times and this is without pokerstars or ggpoker . there will be games to play unless your like some highstake savant who probably should move to vegas or macau. who cares if there's no zoom adjust donka its the same game play more tables

I dunno. Really hard to just say $20/hr is what it would be. I have seen some extremely whale-y stuff in every session I’ve played so far and I made 8 bb/hr pre pandemic over a pretty decent sample, think I’ve improved a lot since then from adjusting to online/studying.
But then again a fair bit of the studied material goes out the window a bit in most of these games, live and online. Maybe I’m worse now. lol

I have played like 10 hours of live in my life just going by what others have told me is a good 2/5 winrate with tough rake. but Whaley stuff does not mean the rake isn't murdering you

Do you guys think mixed games will be dead in Ontario? I hope they still run some HORSE MTTS. I have noticed on 888 nobody plays PLO, hopefully there will be some games running on stars.

Do we think pokerstars will have deposit promos when they launch tomorrow? Trying to decide if I should deposit now while there are all the deposit options or wait till tomorrow to see if there is a bonus but limited to Emt deposit option.

My guess would be yes. 888/party/betmgm all had them

I expect an absolute marketing blitz by Pokerstars similar to all of the sports betting sites

I have a monthly challenge that ends at the end of the 28th. If the migration happens before that I wonder what will happen to it because I don't think I will be able to complete it today.

im most curious about rb. in there faq they say star points have not been worked out with ontario and wont exist at launch. so I think this means no rakeback at first? sounds like bullshit and they are just getting ride of current rb system for a less rewarding one since other sites in ont all have point programs

Heres the faq
Why I'm not earning any StarsCoin?
Like the Rewards Store StarsCoin aren't available yet for Ontario License. We expect players to start earning StarCoin soon after the Ontario license launch.

nothing about having challenges yet that I can find but they do have some in the states from my research earlier in the year

Every segregated PS market has a rakeback program (US sites have the old chests, .es/.de/etc. have the new chest system), I have no concerns on that front.

They don't need to give you starscoin to give you rakeback, most chests are just direct cash these days (at least in my experience). Assume they just change it so 100% of them are for now.
