With lobbying pressure, I fear we will likely go back to ROW pool.

The dream is over bois.

It's unfortunate but governments never care about people who grind poker especially people who do it full time. In fact governments hate people who grind poker full time. I always knew that Ontario poker was on borrowed time and could never be counted on as a long term source of income. Hopefully no one who went from 25z to 200nl+ quit their jobs thinking that this would last forever.

I think its unlikely. for all we know pokerstars is lobbying the opposite way. We can probably do stuff to decrease the odds of them giving in tho. We can explain to them how its in the best interest to keep the money in Canada and not give it to russians. its really not a hard argument to make. the issue is will anyone do it? Or will big company's prevail

The lobbying is being more driven by FD and DK who want the global liquidity for daily fantasy.

From a poker perspective, it makes sense from an operator perspective as well. The biggest disaster is to acquire a customer, then they show up and they cant find a game to play that they want (eg, imagine if you really like Zoom poker, and there's 7 people in the pool or you want to play a giant MTT and the biggest one out there has a tiny guarantee). If Ontario is within global liquidity that doesn't happen.

I think a decent compromise is pool for tourneys, but keep cash segregated. Imagine if you’re some Canadien rec playing micro stakes for the first time and are instantly fleeced by 5 eastern euro pros. That money leaves Canada and never comes back

I would like to go back to ROW. Play at any time you want, unlimited tables, and you will increase your winnings by playing in USD and cashing out to CAD.

Plus the PS client on Apple computers doesn’t work half the time anyways.
