It's not that it should not be considered extreme right-wing, it's that it shouldn't be considered extreme right-wing. Except for their extreme anti-immigration/islam viewpoints, they're a very socialist party.

The whole argument isn't about paying taxes. Whether it's skill or luck you still have to pay tax over your income.

If poker is a game of chance it can only be played inside Holland Casino. If it's a game of skill anyone could rent a large hall and a few dozen poker tables and organize a tournament.

Right now a typical dutch casino is a small windowless building. Usually they have 4 to 6 poker tables. If they clear out all the roulette and blackjack tables maybe they could fit 12 tables, but they'd never do this since a casino is open 7 days a week and they won't lose their moneymakers to play poker.

Because there is no space, there are no meaningful tournaments in holland, only sng-like ones with 60 players max. There is no EPT possible while it's a game of luck.

agreed they consider themselves right-wing though, but it must be said these kind of parties are actually an entirely new breed.

Netherlands was run by conservatives for the last decade but it's still the most liberal country in the world by a long shot, ultra liberal.
I'm only typing this because someone itt said dutch are conservative in the core or somesuch, not true.

Well if it is a game of skill then it follows winnings at poker inside Holland Casino could be taxed. Right now, they can't.

I don't think this ruling is a win, and it annoys me all the shortsighted americans chiming in that it is win. I would much rather have poker be called gambling tax free, and the freedom to gamble protected, than poker be considered a sport. Also, I agree with poker being restricted outside casinos and regulated clubs because poker games can bring cirme to residential neighborhoods.

Making poker legal won't make any difference to robbers, and if you know someone killed in a private poker game, you would understand.

Haha, that's in Breda where I live. The inside is actually not bad, but ditto on the limited amount of tables.

I'm expecting for some poker clubs not unlike london's gutshot to pop out sooner or later. Though I'm not sure if cash games would be considered kosher.

ppl thinking the probability of going to 55% from 29% are ******ed. IF that was the case it allready happenend 10 years ago. No, if its a game of skill there are a lot of EU laws that will persuade the government to not tax online poker at all because it goes against EU laws.

The reason that countries like NL can still tax us because the whole thing is a grey area. Yuo cant complain about for instance double taxing or a few other things they do thats wrong because you play online poker with is stricly speaken not legal/illegal.

cliffs; if this would stand its very good news, even for those who are scared of the taxes.

Thats great, but how do you go about getting a 'blacked out' screenname? My first thought is that it must be obscene or something.
