I didn't know it was still a thing either, but I love that it is. Think they died off in Canada quite some time ago.

It's not just at Walmart, they have em at most grocery stores too. And just an fyi, you can also stream movies directly from their site. They even have a free streaming TV service similar to PlutoTV.

They also have free movie deals on the T-Mobile Tuesday app from time to time.

I of course will watch this being a Crowe fan but this is just very much bringing his own past times to life.

They have the kiosks still outside CVS any me but RedBox has an app too that you can stream movies for a price. Renting a dvd from the kiosk is still cheaper.

The movie is currently 9% on rottentomatoes. Certainly won't be paying to see it.

Let me guess, the poker scene in that trailer is the only hand of poker played in the entire film. i.e. it is as much about poker as The Sting, which has a poker scene but is not at all about poker.

Played the trailer above and the first thing he says is, "I'm check folding".

I played it again, looked up the movie on IMDB and he's really saying, "I'm Jake Foley".

I took one for the team and watched it. It is a bad movie, and it is not a poker movie. A hand or two of poker are played, but the poker is not smart or entertaining. Just like the rest of the movie. And despite the title of the movie, you could easily write poker entirely out of the plot without altering the characters or the story.

If you don't mind dumb plots and one dimensional characters, and say things like "I watch movies to be entertained, not to think," you might not hate it, but I doubt you'll love it. It isn't a comedy, it isn't a mystery, and it isn't a psychological thriller. It kind of has a bit of action in the second half. Maybe it is supposed to be a drama? But hard to feel anything for characters you don't care about that have no personality and no arc.

As an Australian, the fact that the cast is mostly Australian is enough to put me off.
