Bluffing occasionally doesn't make someone far from a nit. He is still a nit who underbluffs. Just a self aware and intelligent nit.

But his success story is a lesson to all the young guns..tight is right if you have some run good on your side.

Why be good and balanced and gto when you can be just tight and lucky

If you mean not showing after the play's dead he's not the only one and it's good discipline.
IIRC Erik was vehemently against showing his cards but I don't remember if he actually openly refused to as much as being verbal that he should have the right to refuse. I think he lost the fight and compiled after making his case.
