You realize that Carl Cox has been rich for many many years and isn't putting his money on the line every time he goes to work. He has probably been to parties 100x crazier than Ziig. Plus just watch Carl Cox when he is playing out I don't think any DJ has more fun that him while performing.

I guess I look up to DJs because I see they get an immediate response from an audience. They can feel the buzz as the crowd goes crazy in direct, immediate response to what they're doing.

If you're a writer, your connection with an appreciative audience is much further removed.

And as for poker players - well, they aren't really making anyone happy except themselves. Only the elite actually have fans, or make anyone "happy" - and then it's an odd mix of admiration, aspiration and envy we feel towards the poker pros we look up to; and we'd just as well see them brought down.

Yup, I'd rather be a millionaire DJ than poker player any day. Nobody ever danced to a Phil Ivey hand....
