Laak's current condition looks nowhere near the kid who tried this last year.

not sure what kind of preparation, but he said he has been preparing since January. it's pretty funny how hard he is crushing the world record.

Ingenious idea. Great marketing by Laak. One man show with so little cost. All the exposure he brought to his site, smart guy. Pretty amazing, 105hrs and counting.

Actually the sleep deprivation is a symptom of the disease that kills them.

This is the most addicting thing to watch. I keep checking his twitter to see "I gave up! Going to sleep forever now!" and he just keeps effing playing. He's a beast.

It's a scam. During the wee hours when nobody is really paying attention, he is up in his room sleeping while a look-a-like imposter with hollywood makeup is filling in for him.

"Dr Rosenburg came by 2 hours ago - I am told blood pressure and all other vitals in perfect condition."

Sick...I'll never bash Phil again.

I keep checking in on his progress and am more and more amazed he is still going. I got excited when I woke up and realized it was Sunday and had another 3-4 hours of sleep if I wanted. Laak is insane.

Someone just yelled out "one hundred twenty, Phil!" or something similar and Laak shook his head and made a 1-2-5 motion with his hands. Awesome.

From ur mom. Seriously why the hate? I was speaking from experience. Maybe instead of saying the body shuts down I should of have said the body stiffs up and gets sore making being awake more miserable thus making staying awake harder.

This is possibly true.
However, the "harder" you are talking about comes from a sensation and is overcomable by sheer willpower, unlike complete exhaustion beyond your potential energy level, at which point you'll black out no matter what.
Also, in my experience, the feeling you talk about lasts only for a couple minutes/hours max after getting up with less than 2 hours of sleep.
After that, you're way better off with a full sleep cycle in your legs than nothing.

Maybe he's not allowed to sleep at all. Just saying that with 1.5 hours of rest every 18 hours, staying up for 125 hours is really not that hard.
You could go for a week like that, guaranteed; which probably means he's not allowed to sleep.

So yes, you'll "feel" more like sh*t with 1.5 hours of sleep right after getting up, but you'll be able to stay up way longer also, ainec.

So the dozens of other people with the exact opposite experience are wrong because you said so?
