I loaded up the link a few seconds ago and I'm not sure how much he has left.. He yawned like 4 times in 2 minutes.

He keeps trying to move around and stretch but it could be over anytime now.

However, the "harder" you are talking about comes from a sensation and is overcomable by sheer willpower, unlike complete exhaustion beyond your potential energy level, at which point you'll black out no matter what.
Also, in my experience, the feeling you talk about lasts only for a couple minutes/hours max after getting up with less than 2 hours of sleep.
After that, you're way better off with a full sleep cycle in your legs than nothing.

Maybe he's not allowed to sleep at all. Just saying that with 1.5 hours of rest every 18 hours, staying up for 125 hours is really not that hard.
You could go for a week like that, guaranteed; which probably means he's not allowed to sleep.

So yes, you'll "feel" more like sh*t with 1.5 hours of sleep right after getting up, but you'll be able to stay up way longer also, ainec.

Considering there is documented people who have gone 10+ days without any sleep at all. I would wager that t would be quite possible to go several weeks, if not a month or more with only 1.5 hours of sleep a day.

Actually. Laak could bank 2 hours for every 24 hours awake.

for some reason I want to disagree with funzo, how ever for me he is correct ainec, I would imagine it would make a difference what you are doing. I think if i was just sitting while awake the naps may help, but with physical labor a couple of hours of sleep made me worse for the wear.

Again, back to 1.5 hours being pretty much exactly a full sleep cycle, going with 1.5 hours every 18 hours would be optimal, and yes, you could go for a very very very long time like that, much longer than without sleeping at all, no matter what you're doing while being awake.

WTF I can't believe he's still at it! Wouldn't it be getting dangerous health-wise now? He doesn't even look tired.

I wonder if anyone has ever set the world record for the longest sleep session? I'm pretty sure I could crack that bad boy.

haven't people been in coma's for years? I doubt you can unless you want to spend the rest of your life sleeping.

i wake up yesterday, laak's still going. i play all day, laak breaks the record. i wake up this morning, laak's still going. i play all day until 2 am, laak's still going, and he looks better than i do.

i've played like 4 multi-hour sessions and slept a full 8 hours since after this guy breaks the record, and he's gonna still be playing when i fall asleep tonight. this is unreal.

They did finish it. The final 3 had to lie on a bed in a darkened room and whoever stayed awake longest won the money. Two of them fell asleep in basically a matter of seconds, and one girl stayed awake some mental amount of time to win it.

Pretty much this. June 2nd he started, so sick.

I've been watching the live stream for a little bit and he was very animated about ten mins ago. Talking with people everywhere, and carrying on a conversation with someone across the table so he had to be somewhat loud. Correct me if I'm wrong but it sounded like he was trying to take bets, giving 4 to 1 that he would make it to 120. Although people were entertaining the idea, and it was close, he had no takers.

This guy's a ****ing machine.

But doesn't lack of sleep cause increased blood pressure? And I recall reading somewhere it also hinders memory and causes general dumbness. Or is that all fixed after one good night's sleep?

I know about 6 or so hours back they had a doctor come in and check his blood pressure, temp and all of that.

Don't know about memory or blood pressure but we need not worry about Laak getting any dumber.

I hope he has a massive brainmelt at some point soon and starts to think that he's playing blackjack, and repeatedly tells the dealer to hit him.
