Why not do it during the WSOP? The idea is to draw attention and have people see it. There is no better time when poker people are around to witness it than the WSOP.

I understand he is missing out on bracelet opportunities but no one chastises pros that take days off at the WSOP and says they are missing opportunities. No one will remember Joe Schmo that won the $1k buy-in bracelet but they'll remember Phil Laak setting the record. That right there is the whole point.

Also - not to say that Laak uses it, but can he use Adderall? I would think this is super-easy if someone did it with whole bunch of Adderall or Modafanil.
ridiculous, adderal, after the body is used to it will cease to work after about 24 hours. i imagine you could keep loading it in to your body with absolutely devastating effects though.

This was a World Record according to who? I just can't see the people at the Guinness Book being cool with your buddies smacking you awake every time you fell over and passed out.

Are these just casino's judging who owns this record?

There isn't a reasonable amount of money I could bet to do this.

This is a really good idea by Phil. Think of all the money he will save in the WSOP buyins...

But yeah, actually playing live poker for whatever reason can make somebody stay awake waaay longer than when doing something else. I once did an 22 hour session and wasn't even tired. I couldn't sleep and then drove 4 hours to get home because it was check-out time at my hotel.

RT @thestrippodcast: Just posted a 20-min interview w @RealPhilLaak on his record-setting try at Bellagio: http://j.mp/9j7IPE #wsop

From his twitter. The interview is pretty bad, and apparently there is a fire alarm or something going off half way through the interview its extremely annoying for the interview.

It wasn't pre. Twitter has the HH.

Limp for 20, Rui maks it 80 w 1010, Mehran calls 80, I make it 480 to go. Rui calls. M folds. flop qqt I bet 560, Rui min raises. And it is 2800 more if I call his raise and go all in. I did. I lost.
