Seems like this should be moved to Televised Poker now. Maybe we would get better discussions like back in the Live@TheBike days...

Phil Laak to Attempt New Poker Endurance World Record at Bellagio in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada May 19, 2010 – Poker professional Phil “The Unabomber” Laak is looking to set a new world record for the most hours of poker played in a single sitting.

Taking place at the luxurious Bellagio Poker Room in Las Vegas, starting on June 2, Laak will be looking to break the world record of 78 straight hours of playing poker which was set by Paul Zimbler in the fall of 2009.

Phil Laak is an internationally recognized professional douchebag clown that we all wish would just go away, known for his iconic look at the poker table where he wears sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head. He is also a regular on televised poker shows like Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker. His animated personality, banter at the tables and interest in participating in sometimes bizarre propositional bets have also contributed to his renown.

"I have played many enduro sessions of poker, but never anything of this magnitude,” stated Laak. “I know this will test my limits but I love a good challenge and am excited to be trying to beat this record in Vegas’ top poker room."

What limit do you think he will be playing?

Yep, he gets 5 minute breaks every hour, but he doesn't have to use them, he can bank them and use it at any time.

Edit: And why all the hate for Phil Laak? You all act like he killed somebody or something.

Playing in WSOP tournaments is negative EV for Phil Laak.

So am i right to assume that he can play for 36 hours then take a 3 hour nap. then play like 20 hours take a 1hour 40 min break then play another 12 take an hour break then play ten more and he wins????? this is lame as all ****. sorry if the math is off

its just stupid...i assumed maybe like every 4-5 hours he could get a 5 min break to piss or w/e and no time banking.

if at any point he sleeps, he fails, the time bank **** is cheating it....

Even if he can bank the 5 min breaks I don't think it has ever been said he can use them to sleep or am I wrong?

He can sleep but the minutes used for "break" don't count towards the time goal. Sleeps for 3 hours....the clock stops I believe.
