I would say it's self-promotion. He does it to get attention, air-time etc. which leads to him making money.

No, I think he genuinely tilts after every "suck out." But he totally owns his image and has turned into a brand. And Phil will continue to make more money than anyone crushing online midstakes because he can play with a lot of rich fish.

I also think he acts like a d-bag at the tables and berates players to get them to bluff/make bad plays against him and get players to call him down with bad hands just so that they can try and beat him.
