Phil did use the word "lucky" twice when describing his comeback victory. He also admits Jungleman and Polk are two of the best in the world. That is about as honest as Phil ever gets.

Maybe Phil can pull some self-confidence from this.

I felt a little pang of sadness when jungle said he wasn't playing in the game on stream tomorrow. He simply just laughed at the stakes.

this basic sums up Poker from the last 25 years

the best players in the world work hard and try to beat Phil with no success

so they go back to the lab, crush some more numbers and think "now Im ready for Phil" but they fail once again

and it keeps happening and happening over and over again

25 years should be enough for them to notice that Phil is on another level, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expect a different result

Phil is first to act on the river and goes all in for $10K, pot is now $60K, so jungleman is getting 6/1 to call with trip 10s (FOR THE WIN) remember there are only 3 diamonds on the board not 4!! And he folds... WTF

this is amazing, theres maybe only 4 people in the world that can do this and 3 of them dont play poker anymore thats why Phil dominates alone

Wow is that for real ? Phil knows he will play a streamed HU game and can't just eat his pasta a few minutes BEFORE it starts ?
I'm maybe nitpicking a bit on this, but I find that kinda disrespectful towards his opponent and audience.
If it's 6-max or 9-max or even if they were for 1-2 hours in the game HU I'd say nothing but there it looks he just sat at poker table and ordered his meal like if he was at restaurant.
It obviously adds to the fun/badass factor and it's Phil but still no class act.

Actually, I think I don't like watching people eat at all, and even less at a poker table, it's tilting.

My favourite part of Dougs match was where 'the best in the world HU' had to flip a coin in a spot vs an overbet against the biggest the nit on the planet who's never bluffed that size in that spot in 20 years on live TV.

The Q9 was tough though.

If I wasnt so sick of Doug I'd be amused his ego got dinged.
