Both players played well and much respect for both from me.

Helmuth did happen to have the cards in the big pots, and the times Polk had a strong hand it was second best.

Helmuth made one very good read and call in an important pot, no one can refute that much.

Its hard to not be leveled when Helmuth says "you will bluff me, I will call you" and "you will pay off my big hands". Especially when Helmuth gets the cards.

The best part of this match was Doug saying what most of us are thinking, directly to Phil, over and over. So awesome and LOL! Still got pwned tho!! Like Doug said at the end, sometimes you lose to the greatest! I'd like to see them play a best of 5 or 10.

phil made many smallish mistakes. think doug should have small balled the game to get as many hands in as possible and not play high variance low edge bluffs and bluffcatchers that happened to be -ev aswell). for example overbet 9high on flush river with no blockers, DB-betfold open ender in position (78 hand)

If they played a hundred times in this format Phil wins 52+ and more if eating something a little lighter than pasta. Live reads are real.

I'd say that Phil may very well be 55+% when eating a non-chowder soup, slumping to something like 42-45% when eating a monte cristo sandwich.
