He would call, it was cheap and with remaining chips he can apply his 14 bracelets edge. Maybe he will be forced order another pasta.

You heard it here first. Doug Polk beats children.

Every younger generation of players has to learn. You can't draw your little elfin sword on the White Wizard.

Vanessa should just be thankful that PH didn't banish him to the far East, like he a certain other online sensation.

The range/math theories are fun, but you nerds are forgetting an integral factor of being the greatest: monogamy. He hasn't mentioned this, but PH has NEVER cheated on his wife.

PH is actually pretty centered and balanced in his real life, which has not come easy for him or his marriage, which he has been pretty open about. Actually a pretty huge part of being a winning player over decades.

You. Just. Can't.
3rd option: elaborate deception

"You too can beat those damn internet/math kids"

Its great for the overall economy/game that Phil won here.

One match does not judge either player as being the stronger player. I think if they played Headsup cash online for a large sample Polk would Destroy him.

Most likely, but so what?

They agreed to play live -- where Phil says he has an advantage because of his ability to read opponents and influence their actions through "white magic" -- and Phil beat both Doug and Jungle. He did the most he could do in that format to establish he was "stronger" -- he won it.

I sometimes wonder if you make these posts to troll or if you genuinely never played a hand of poker in your life

Of course it does.
Again, the format was agreed to by Doug, Jungle, and Phil before they started and Phil won it fair and square.

What more could Phil have done? Get Jungle to fold trips when Phil only had one chip left rather than a few thousand? Get Doug to fold a bluff to his own bluff for even more chips in the pot?

He won the only contest to which they all agreed to compete.
It's ovah: White Magic mystifies again.

how does hellmuth do well. reading live updates of these wpt hands boggles my mind. he just snap folds to 4 bet jams when he has QQ. he 3 bets like he has 62 off and folds to a 4 bet jam.
does he run the purest of any human at 20 bb jams?

Exactly

what more could Phil do?

also the idiots saying that "you cant say anything with just a few matches" wouldnt say that if Phil loses, they would be sucking the dicks of Doug/Jungle

worship internet poker players is the lowest someone can reach in life lol

You're wrong... the disconnect between logical awareness of variance and beating someone live only exists among live players. And Doug/Jungle fans are likely overwhelmingly online players.
If Jungle did win it would have been nice to see the person who actually put in hard work in the format get paid but no one would be saying stuff like:"Damn I knew he could never lose in a million years since he's clearly the stronger player and variance doesn't exist."
