What will happen to all Phil's videos now?

Phil has to make a statement where he elaborates further on this matter, he owes this to people as he made it look like BFP was his personal coaching website (that's a fact), and that's why people spent their money on month-to-month, and very long term subscriptions. Without Phil giving us all the impression that BFP was his own company, I doubt most of us would've signed up. If Phil was never actually a real co-owner of the website, who'd have a strong interest in working out any problems instead of just leaving, then that's very shady as they always marketed themselves as BFP = Phil Galfond + an elite group of instructors (chosen by Phil).

I just signed up for the site very recently, and I would have not spent $100 on the sign up fee if I would've known that Phil would stop making videos in a matter of weeks of me registering. Sure, there are still all of the videos he created in the past, but I decided to spend my money on BFP with the intent of having access to Phil's mind for many months, hopefully years, to come.

Why does everything that has anything to do with online poker have to suck now?

The site has been fairly dreadful for ages.

If that samoleus story is true then just WOW, but:

Not this. I wasn't around when samoleus was a top player/poster but I've read most of the archived threads with him in and he generally came across as an immature douche. When people said in threads they didn't think he was great he came in saying how disappointed he was in them and that he'd made 6 million at 10/20 etc etc. He seemed to be pretty infamous for getting in e-fights with people over the smallest **** and I'm not very surprised to learn that he might be a complete slimeball from SoCal.

I hope more comes to light, and again Phil gl in whatever you pursue.

Yeah, I have no idea how anyone could think he's "pretty much the last guy i would have expected this from" unless they're not familiar with his 2+2 history.

I think u can represent a site.. even manage a site..be a front man etc.. with out owning it. I don't see why it would be shady.. If you are subscribing to a site for 1 person i'd say ur taking a risk with any training site.. that person could be up and gone, or stop making videos for any reason... If phil did own the site and he decided to take 8 months off I don;t think that he is doing anything wrong.. there is no guarantee with ur subscription that he will be making videos for the entire duration..

SoLost,

I based most of my opinion on samo on the interviews I've listened to, combined with how he seemed to be highly thought of by other very good players.

Maybe i should dig up some old threads, as i wasn't around then, to get a better picture.

That's ridiculous. BFP is a business. They charge people for a service, a SUBSCRIPTION service, and they need to provide it, as with everything in the real world. So no, Phil could've not just taken 8 months off. HBO can't stop putting out new content for 8 months either.

Again, the whole marketing revolved around BFP being Phil Galfond. If Phil got himself involved in a situation where he was not in control, and let BFP distort reality and use him in a marketing sense that did not properly portray reality (i.e. Phil just being an employee), then Phil acted extremely naive and didn't watch out for himself.

they can provide the service of training videos with out phil..... his contribution was only a % of the videos.. they were/are most popular, but I don;t see how its shady if he leaves, or takes time off.. he can be the face of the company.. endorse the quality of the videos.. and not make videos himself... businesses do that all the time.. My account came with no Phil G guarantee..

So who is the actual owner?

I suspect SoCo desription is grossly inaccurate. Having said that, I defended Stox for a long time. Would love the mystery owner to be revealed and clear up all this.

I think it is public knowledge, and you'll find it with a bit of digging round - I remember hearing/reading something about the guy when BFP first started up.

Snow something (on 2+2)??

is there a worse possible PR move than to cut off phil without letting him post his final goodbye and videos, and not even tell him what's going on? he's just the guy the site was built around, one of the nicest and easiest to like guys in poker, and one of the best players in the world. well played, BFP.

Only few random donks, as for example Jungleman, Leatherass, Collin Moshman, Kobeyard, Tobias Reinkemeier, Jonathan Little and others...
