As I am a recreational player now let me make a wishlist as well:

-table cap (preferably 4 tables or less)
-no software during play allowed
-some ways to make the games more sociable, that's a hard problem but I remember from the early days that constant banter in the chatbox was very fun to follow and participate in; it changed in Party days when people started getting HUDs and mass-tabling; something died about the game then and I want it back
-a bit related to previous point but there should be a way to verify online that a human is playing; that may mean that people with 0 social skills or inability to speak basic English don't get to play - I am fine with that, I wouldn't play with them live either

That's what it would take for me to spew some money from time to time instead of choosing other forms of entertainment.

Now I don't have much hope it's implemented at Phil Galfond's site as that's probably not the best way business wise. I am just waiting to see what his ideas are. It's going to be interesting to follow.

maybe some kind of promotion/extra rakeback for people who are active in chat?

The problem with this is that the biggest whales in the world going forward will be guys that barely speak English

Should leave the railbird and reg chat for the RIO forums. The poker site should have MiniClip pool phrase bubbles that can be used to create a better experience for newToSite players. For instance:-

"Hello"

"Nice Hand"

"I Bluff"

"I'm Flushing"

"HU4ROLLZ?"

"Die in a grease fire" etc

I miss the full tilt avatar expressions soo much. pls bring back the ninja?

evolution of NVG arguments

2000-2012: i crush at poker, therefore i know better
2012-present: im a fun player, therefore you should cater to me

1) anonymous tables
2) 4-6 table cap
3) 15 second shot clock with 15 second special timebank (partly to keep games fast and fun for the fish, partly so regs can get volume in to compensate for the table cap limit)
4) fun fast software, merge's animated emoticons are genius, 888 allowing you to throw snowballs/tomatoes at your opponent was a fun addition too

Nobody is using a dream machine during play. Your software is not allowed during play either. If you care about the game and do not want to play against bots then stop selling your software! Because your software is turning humans into bots!

I think Dwan's going to make an appearance here as they're buddies, then the durrrr challenge will resume on this site.

100% agree with Tim Stone. If huge sportsbooks likes paddypower/betfair cant get fun players, I doubt a high stakes reg who most fun players never heard of is going to, Also if its linked it to any training site makes no sense for the pokersite and quailty of games, only €$ sense for the training site.

i think the main problem is, that galfond was kinda forced to announce the project while he isn't able to tell the most important details (e.g. who invests, where will the poker room be available and is it a part of some network [so far doubtful] or is it affiliated with some other site) .... so saying he fails due to a lack of recs is a wild speculation imo

i think galfond knows 100%, what the problems are and thinking he is too dumb to see the risk, is a bit naive

No. Its common sense actually. Pokerstars has teh biggest athlete of our times in their corner. Gigantic social media following. Insane fanbase. Own clothing label. Yadayada. They barely manage to hold the status quo currently... so go figure
