Imagine calling yourself a reg and complaining about a feature that increases your edge.

Exactly my point, make it fair for everyone, including weaker players. You seem to think I have it backwards, I fully understand that it favors me, I would just rather have it fair for everyone!

I notice that you have a history of mostly berating the players that are trying to have a sincere discussion on the policies that affect the health of the games. But you are giving the impression you are not a reg but also that you understand these policies better than the regs (which implies you are not a rec).

I'd like to ask what player type you define yourself as which is both more knowledgeable than the average reg but also not interested enough to want to improve the state of the game? Are you a rec or a reg? Do you identify as long term winning or long term losing? Because afaict you don't fit into any self-consistent player type. I know of no poker players like this and I don't think its possible, but as an image on a forum, and that it is very disruptive to what is seen by actual players (both recs and regs) as a very meaningful debate/discussion.

Sad to say, I haven't had the time to play poker this week. How is the traffic fairing on RIO?

We considered this. There are a couple of concerns about postflop splashes, but none that I expect can't be overcome with some creative solutions. Long story short, we wanted to simplify things for launch, and we're still discussing this (and other STP adjustments).

In my post on the topic, I explained that part of the goal of Splash The Pot was the added variance (and why). Please check it out and let me know what you think.

Really loving this splash the pot concept

Also, MTT's anytime soon?
thank you!

MTTs will take some time, unfortunately, but we're working on our roadmap now. It's tough because I so badly want to add the rest of our ideas and gametypes, but I also want our cash game product to be completely polished ASAP, and there are only so many developers to go around.

Once we have SNGs and MTTs, there will be options for utilizing sub-€4 balances. I understand that it's not ideal right now. We weren't planning on launching with 4NL (were going to make 10NL the lowest stakes), but we decided to for this reason.

What % rakeback to regs need exactly?

If you think STP is good for you, great! It seems like almost all players are happy with it when speaking for themselves but some, like you, worry about what others will feel.

I firmly believe that STP is fair for everyone, but even under the premise that it's unfair to recs because they'll play worse in splashed pots, how many sites offer a rewards program that is fairer than ours?

I'm happy with our traffic, but obviously, we're still a new site. We haven't had consistency yet at higher stakes or during low volume hours of the day, but we're going to work towards it. Have you played some? I'd love to hear your feedback!

^Yes, It's been stated that those will be definitely added after MTTs and high stake cash.

No precise timeline has been given

obv can't speak for phil, but it's up to switzerland to offer licences, so i doubt rio has plans. i also doubt that rio can afford to acquire small market licences in the near future anyway. next step would be FR/ES (PT), but even that is a long way to go

Re: Phil Galfond to Start a Poker Site (Launched - Support thread open in Internet Poker forum)

As a Canadian player, it has been really difficult to deposit funds.

I want to play on the site but it will not accept my Visa. The other two options are Ecopays and MuchBetter.

- The MuchBetter app has a load cap of $80 CAD by default also, even on my Samsung 9+ phone it constantly crashes and has all sorts of issues

-Signed up for a EcoPays account, took a little while had to send in lots of documents. EFT deposit cap is $140 CAD. They do not allow Visa transactions if you are going to be using your funds for online gaming. EFT takes one week to clear.

So ...I wanted to take advantage of the deposit bonus but $140 CAD is about 80 euro, so right now I am having to wait a month or so worth of EFT deposits to finally deposit 600 euro.

I understand it costs a lot of money for additional deposit options, Its just unfortunate run it once does not have bank/EFT deposit withdrawal options similar to Party Poker which makes it so much easier.

Phil said in the podcast with Joey Ingram that the next country they will try to get a licence in is Sweden. Great for me because I'm a Swede

KYC yourself to Muchbetter it takes less than 10 minutes and your limits will jump to 2500 one time and 64k daily.

Agree with all of this. I haven't spent much time back in Canada to play yet but the current options don't make things easy. I think Phil did address in the other thread that they had reached out to Instadebit initially and they weren't willing to work with them yet because they are new. Fingers crossed that changes sometime soon because that would solve a lot of issues and it's gotta be the easiest/most popular way to deposit for Canadians on the other sites.

Re: Phil Galfond to Start a Poker Site (Launched - Support thread open in Internet Poker forum)

Eventhough the client looks rly good, it shouldnt go public yet, freezes a lot and makes you lose money in way too many spots, i.e. you playing 100bbs after some hands it disconnects while you are in a hand (eventhough your connection is working fine and all other clients) and you can't sit back in, then you have to leave the table and lose the money you were playing and sit in another table with 100bbs, this is so bad just made my decision easy and snap stopped playing, same with playing going all in pre and suddenly it freezes and you don't know the outcome, then you have to close the client and sit back in just to realize you lost the money but no hand history to know how.

And all the way playing it freezes, you can't sit back in, people can win 100000bbs then leave the table and come back with 100bbs only (i've seen this so many times since the notes and tags are valid for about 4 hours) and that is so EV-, when playing more than 1 table it can sit out on 1 for no reason and can't sit back in (have to leave the table), like i said on discord i hope this rly works since i know there only good intentions on this but if the client is making you lose money in so many spot then why play there? sorry guys but for me if ppl is playing with real money it shouldn¿t make you lose money w/o reason like it is now, and reporting like 20 bugs per session is not my idea of an enjoyable grind so just left and hope to return in a year when eveyrthing is ready, for now for me is no more RIO and only playing in clients with stability (suddenly i appreciate stars/party/888/bodog for having stability and not worrying about losing money for clients operative reasons).

Still hope everything works out Phil and this grows to be the biggest site since it's by players for players.

Needing to download updated software every time from website is not great experience given that all other rooms update their software automatically in seconds after opening room.

There's a marketing campaign? Aside from Twitch and people streaming with 40 viewers there's nothing I can see that is evident.

I think they wanna get the software out of beta first before pouring money into marketing. Also, I saw an article with the marketing director that said they are gonna be working on a small budget

Re: Phil Galfond to Start a Poker Site (Launched - Support thread open in Internet Poker forum)

Been playing all this last week. Its the most fun I have had playing online for a long time.
When you play live you want a fun table not a bunch of nits, playing this week has felt the closest to that live experience. STP feature is great, the small splashes are a nice bonus and the big ones bring some fun gamble to the table, keeps everyone a bit looser and the action going.

Re: Phil Galfond to Start a Poker Site (Launched - Support thread open in Internet Poker forum)

Why was $4 (euro) the min buy-in and not $2 for NL? Likewise Omaha at $10 euro min buy-in

2NL is level 1 for me. If i deposit $50 i don't want to have only 12 buy-ins at 4NL... or 5 nuyins at Omaha... 30mins later ill lose and uninstall due to being forced to play high limits with my small bankroll..

Call me a nit.. but as a casual player I want to play on the new site (2-4 tables) with some chump change and see how I go at level 1.. when RIO poker is currently full of sharks...

Pretty sure micro stakes is where a lot of the StreamR viewers (new players) would also want to start..
The lack of microstakes makes this a barrier for me to want to come play and for my wife to approve deposit amounts

I could be wrong about this but I think they intend on making 10 NL the lowest stake.
