Hi everyone,
As Phil mentioned, I’m the Content and Community Engagement Manager for Run It Once Poker, some of you may know me from Discord or the Run It Once Training forums. I’m looking forward to expanding my role and interacting with the 2+2 community. (except the angry trolls )

The past week our office has been full of excitement. On Thursday, Phil shared our rake numbers and introduced our unique, primary rewards program, “Splash the Pot.” In case you missed it, we will be “splashing” 51% of the collected rake back onto the tables randomly ranging from 1bb to 1,000 bbs. Keep in mind, the majority of the splashes will be small amounts. You can check out Phil’s full post here:

Yesterday, we dropped the news everyone has been waiting for… Our official launch date! As Phil mentioned, on Wednesday, we will be opening our doors to the public for the first time. The amount of support we’ve received over the last 24+ hours is truly incredible. If you’ve been following our project check out Phil’s post: “A Poker Site.”

With this news, we’ve also been receiving questions, questions, and more questions. The first thing I’d like to point out is the list of countries that will NOT be allowed to play on Run It Once Poker.

BLOCKED COUNTRIES:
Afghanistan, Australia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Colombia, Czech Republic, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany (State of Schleswig-Holstein), Greece, Guyana, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Uganda, United States of America, Vanuatu, Yemen

Here is a quick answer to 3 other FAQs so far:

1) When can I download the client?
I will make a post in this thread when it’s available.
2) Which deposits options are available in my country?
Payout options are country specific, please be patient and wait until you’re able to access our cashier.
3) Where can I find some details on the streamR program?
We’re in the process of updating our website and all the information you need will be available soon. We'll be providing a helpful set up guide for new streamRs, as well as an overlay. I will drop a comment in here when this is available.

Now that those are addressed if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions fire away. I will do my best to stay on top of replies but please keep in mind I will be busy answering questions across many networks.

I’m stoked for Wednesday and looking forward to hearing what you guys think of our software. Good luck!

- Nick

Thank you! As far as I know, HM/PT aren't quite ready to support our HHs. They aren't that much different from other sites - someone during beta even used an online replayer that worked properly (surprisingly!) - but we do have Splash The Pot included in them, which will surely cause some issues until trackers accommodate them.

We do have a deposit bonus and our streamR program (which I've discussed in previous runitonce.eu posts). Details of everything will be up on the website tomorrow.

Thanks so much to everyone who's ready to support us. You may think I "have to say this," but it truly means a lot to me and to all of the people working tirelessly to make this launch a success (hopefully).

Tomorrow will be a very, very important day for me and, if all goes according to plan, I intend to make it a very important day for online poker.

I almost never play NL HE or PLO cash (other than within 8-game), but I'll deposit 10 euros and have a look-see - hoping for more mixed games and SNG/MTT action later.

I was actually on your list for beta testing, but I was unable to play both times I was invited, otherwise I'd have just played the 30 euros bonus like crazy!

If I double up my 10 euros I'll cash out my deposit and then do the crazy thing anyway.

GL!

expected abit more "revolution" in rgds to rake.

while yes, it's cheaper than stars or party it still uses the old and stupid system which results in way to high rake in BB on the lowstakes and way too low rake on 1k++

these days you arent really competing with Stars or Party for traffic, you are competing with unregulated chinese apps who are using an entire different (and for lowstakes and micro players) way better rake system.

which NL50 or NL100 player would be playing for 7-10bb/100 in reg heavy games if you can play in 3-4bb/100 NL60 and NL120 games with 3++ recreational at each table?

I am so hyped for this! Best of luck Phil and the Run it Once tram, and everybody that can, get on and play on RIO poker on Wednesday!

Looking forward to the new TimStone Poker site with barely noticeable rake!

I'd take 10bb in reg heavy 100NL games too.

You want to withdraw? Sure. Pay 5%-10% more from your profits.
You're playing in a good club? Buy insurance (moar rake).
You won a lot, but couldn't buy insurance? Get hit with a 5%-10% penalty.

And don't get me started on bots and teamplay on higher limits.

i didnt came here to make this a debate reg sites vs apps.

i'm just surprised how favourable people look at the introduced rakesystem here.

all this is, is more of the same bullshirt we had for over a decade now slightly cheaper than current mainstream competitors.

micros and lowstakes gets eaten alive by rake in bb/100 while highstakes is paying next to nothing. aspiring players will have an insanely hard time moving up the ranks ("the dream") bc rake is annihilating them.

galfond had a chance here to make a real sort of revolution in rgds to a fair rake system but it didn't happen and i don't think it will even when reevaluating numbers

That's the kind of info you'll find over in the Internet Poker thread that's been linked a couple of times.

wanna see a poker site that does not rake cash game chop pots.
its cancer for both recs and regs especially for micros
02-06-2019 , 07:49 AM
I am not gonna lie. I expected 3% effective rake at the very least. I was hoping for 2% on the lower stakes.

But one got to take into account that RIO is in a difficult spot.
They have almost all the costs of a fully fledged poker site (rent for office and servers, salaries for staff etc.) but in fact they will be running only half a poker site.
A few pages back we looked on some graphs and saw around half of the revenue of a poker site is coming from sng's and tourneys. This is completely lost on RIO rn.

It could even cost more than half of the revenue cause a rec getting smoked at the cash tables might dread "those nits" waiting to play Kings all the time" and leaves but still wants to play poker, so he hops in an SnG.
If they are rage-quitting cash tables on RIO they will close the client entirely.
Add to this that RIO is probably 12 to 18 month behind their worst case schedule... They might need some money.

That being said, I really hope that they slash the rake down to 5% for an effective rake of 2.5% in the near future.

I see three streamR broadcasts so far. Each has about 100 viewers in first few minutes.
