+1 with your own cards being vertical and the rest tilted - so annoying.

Kind of surprising that PS hit the perfect model so long ago, and it is still the best software for playing for both the serious and recreational poker players.

And they bought the second best s/w and scrapped it.

It is beautiful. We don't really mind if they (you?) are not there.

Really hope there's an option to speed up the animations or turn them off. Looks decent, but nothing spectacular software-wise. It's still in development and stuff, but some things really look very cheap regarding the software, kinda like snips out of JS libraries. GL

yup, the tilted cards are a no go.
They need to fix this pre launch or it WILL drive people away

Seem just worse unibet with dynamic avatars.
lol at chat only with predefined emotions/texts. But i guess what else they can do when they are anonymous poker room where players don't even know their own username.

with the "sitout policy" people still can stall until the fish sits back, i reckon a lot of timebanking and intentionally timing out for 1 minute breaks if the regs are unwilling to play each other. don't worry Phil, people will try their best to exploit the rules.

and they won't even lose their timebanks if playing this "strategy" on UTG - D, because it doesn't activate itself with no chips in pot, just time out and wait for a minute with no playing/paying rake at all. and i guess they can "wait for the big blind" after sitting back, so spare a couple more minutes of play with no active fish at table.

I guess it has already been discussed but it needs to be clear : Are the notes we take on a player permament (whether or not he keeps the same alias) or just for the course of a session/short term ?
It would be the difference between not much more than the "seat me" system of pokerstars to awful non exploitative anonymous tables (obv generating more rake for them).

yea, and the games probably gonna be way more difficult than unibet because its just gonna be a bunch of training site nerds.

Interested to see the rake structure and rakeback deals they come out with, but can't see myself depositing and playing often on RIO poker.

My understanding is that nobody ever knows your actual site alias. The one that you see for each player is randomly assigned and lasts for a period of time. Maybe 24hrs or so. So the notes you take will only be useful if you play a player within that window period before their SN changes again.

If anyone bothered reading over at runitonce.com you would already know a lot of questions being asked here. Also LOL at the person talking about PT/HM hud.

Anyway they are adressing the tilted cards and already working on it apparently.

Haven't looked at Unibet in recent times (maybe they have changed the client in the last few months), but this looks much better in my opinion!

In relation to the tilted cards. If this prevents bots from playing it's probably worth it, if its just to make it harder for someone to build a private custom hud then ditch this, as it's a bit painful to play this way. But if it really prevented all the bots from playing it would be worth the sacrifice.

Other than that it would be cool it there was different cards to change in the client like in pokerstars, other skins, etc.

No. The only way to make it hard to read for bots would be to unpredictably change the shape, location and content of cards, betsizes etc. But at some point it would be more annoying for the regular users than bot makers.

Today's machine learning is so good that probably there are already public working examples of code that will 100% properly read unknown deck of cards assuming it's more or less standard duece to Ace with relatively regular suit shapes.

The software looks clean and fast from the video posted, it sucks they won't have a fast fold variant upon launch & still no announcement on rake & rakeback structure.
09-05-2018 , 07:04 PM
So with this site you pretty much get a screen name for the session? If they make a fast fold game. Similar to bovada zone, but the only difference is you keep the screen name for the session, that is going to be really fun.

What countries is this site going to open with? I guess I can research that later.

Unibet does this and seems to be doing just fine. And the reason for tilted cards is to prevent huds etc from working and this comes from unibet.

Also, OCR based approaches are very poor way of getting info about the game state and somebody who is able to make a high quality bot would be able to do it in a far more elegant way.

Most decent helper apps for Stars like TableOptimizer etc don't use OCR. PT4 doesn't either.

So how are you supposed to deal with bots and collusion when you don't keep a name longer than 24 hours? I never got the anonymous thing, seems like it's an advertisment saying "COME CHEAT AT OUR POKER ROOM!"

Poker sites don't exactly have the best track record of catching cheaters.

You are spot on, players that know each other can easily sit at the same table and hide this under the cloak of anonymity.

A more sensible approach would be to have fixed screennames for a month, that then has to be changed, as that would help collusion be clearer.

The upsides of anonymous poker are outweighed by the collusion it enhances.

How do you this when you can't choose your seat?
