-No HUD, maximum measures taken to enforce
-Temporary alias anonymous system, alias determined automatically when you sit (human name)
-HHs with opponents’ hole cards available after 24h
-Avatars will change expressions based on vpip/pfr/3b for the session so recs can tell when someone’s aggro or tight etc
-Further details coming in a series of updates

pls correct/clarify if I misread something, it’s late.

looks great. good ideas and policies from his second post
05-02-2018 , 09:34 PM
Solid ideas, very cool how everything was implemented I think recs will like the avatars.
05-02-2018 , 10:06 PM
The dynamic avatar thing is a very nice and elegant solution. Makes me optimistic.
05-02-2018 , 10:27 PM
looks good to me
05-02-2018 , 10:28 PM
What a ****ing guy PG is.

"Quick note: As mentioned in my first update post, we will have a nosebleed stakes offering that is different from the rest of our games. One of those differences will lie in our HUD restrictions. For a number of reasons, without going into detail just yet, we didn’t believe we could do enough to disincentivize HUD use within the structure of that offering to make banning HUDs a fair policy for those games."

Wow
I've been a proponent of a hud that's in-built Available to everyone
It's a great idea.

Eventually Russians etc.al will get screen grabbing Huds anyways and the site will run into enforcement troubles

It's obvious from the nosebleed change - with enough money that would happen really fast, doubt it'll take a long time on midstakes if the site actually gets traffic

maybe with the hand histories after 24h we can see a permanent id of the players, would help with self policing cheaters

So... which are the good ideas and which are the bad ones?

(Obviously, you’re smart and you picked the good ones and I’m about to confirm you were right, but this question is here to give others a chance to think.)

It looks like Galfond is really trying to implement policies and technological changes in his site's software to separate himself from the competition, i like his line of thinking. Really interesting on what his site will do with regards to rake & rakeback.

PG made clear in the comment section below the post that that won’t happen, as some very sophisticated software could detect patterns from the HH’s and gain unfair advantage. Also, even one hand twittered / posted by a player could be enough to identify the person and allow someone else to publish a results graph for that player etc. He did remark that he may be swayed to change this, depending on circumstances.

All makes sense. drip feeding the feature set is good PR.

However they have still not answered as important (most important ? ) question.

Are they going to play in regulated or unregulated world ?

If regulated, which jurisdictions have they applied for licenses and where do they plan to launch?

Its odd that PG would be totally transparent in their feature set with full logic behind decision making, yet not a peep about licensing / regulatory.

Already been mentioned before, regulated in Malta (MGA) and UK (UKGC) so far - plus the actual poker website has all the info and links at the footer

so players from which countries will be allowed to play?

No U.S. players allowed ?
05-03-2018 , 07:20 AM
Need be invited player to read terms & conditions, feels bad.

It’s all there at the bottom of the page:

Run It Once Limited, 35, Strait Street, Valletta, VLT 1455, Malta.
Class III License No MGA/CL3/1255/2016 awarded on 29th August, 2017.
Online gaming is regulated in Malta by the Malta Gaming Authority.
Obviously no US players, not worth taking the risk if you already ‘made it’.

Avatars look good, really cool idea.
05-03-2018 , 01:38 PM
Gonna give it a try anyway. Reasoning for blocking HUDs is solid as well.

But saying that these "avatars" is a good replacement for the HUD means you`re either a REC or a ****ing hypocrite.
05-03-2018 , 02:14 PM
Love this idea, looking forward to hearing more about their plans.
05-03-2018 , 05:36 PM
If the idea with dynamic avatars would come from anyone else but Phil than everyone would laugh at it. The idea is good for Kindergarten.
05-03-2018 , 06:07 PM
Sounds like something midway between Bovada and Unibet. Anonymous hudless tables, great for the business not so much for the players, but I would like to know more about the effective rake structure. Will the delayed hand history be compatible with PT4/HEM2?
05-03-2018 , 06:17 PM
Whats the point in that delayed HHs anyway? Just to track your own results? You can do that through cashier at any time.

Not a plenty of room you have for developing your game on a hudless\anonymous site.
