Just interested to know if this figure is true (not calling you a liar, you're probably right). He's up $6.6 million on Full Tilt and $1.45 million on Pokerstars according to highstakesdb. But didn't 90% of those winnings come from Guy Laliberte?

I don't know how much he made in games below $25/$50 or tournaments. Do you think it's $12 million?

As for the site, I think they will start to include tournaments when traffic increases, otherwise they will have huge overlays and lose money. If they don't include tournaments full stop, that's a pretty big mistake, because casual players from tournaments come over to cash games. Without tournaments, all you will have are reg-filled cash games.
Ermm, it was a figure of speech!

and... "summer", "seasoned".

I have no context into Phil's finances but he lives in vegas and my understanding is that you're allowed to play live cash games there. I don't think HSDB tracks those games.

Are you saying he plays some sort of filthy untracked eurosites while living in the magical land of vegas?

Any idea if Australians will be able to play on this site?

rio poker holds licences in the UK and Malta. the UKGC is quite strict about, so i doubt RIO poker will serve any black market ...

Why has he stopped updating the features of the site?
07-22-2018 , 11:16 PM
In response to this ^
I know that on a his latest Joe ingram pod he said he kind of went all out on playing poker and the series was kind of a vacation. He is just now getting himself back in the RIO grind so that may have something to do with it. He may also feel that those articles were a sufficient teaser but that is of course pure guesswork

I'm sorry, guys. I made the mistake of thinking I could play poker, take meetings, make videos for Run It Once and for our new YouTube channel, and keep up with creating posts this summer. I overestimated what I could handle, as I seem to always do during the WSOP, and every time I had a moment to spare, there was something more pressing that needed my attention or my focus wasn't strong enough to write coherently, so the post fell through the cracks.

I'm back to work now and will get the next one up as quickly as I can (it still will take a little bit of time).

To be clear, absolutely nothing stopped or slowed down as far as the operation of the company during WSOP - I just haven't kept up with my update plans. It won't happen again (until next summer). Thanks for your patience!

New update!!

https://www.runitonce.eu/news/4-decisions-decisions/

I def think they should go for a 4 table maximum. But i might be a bit biased since i never play more then four. But i only see good things doing this. What do you guys think?

In the long run, I agree w/ the 4-table max, but in the short run I advocate for 6-table if it indeed means RIO will generate more rake to use for marketing/player acquisition.

great update. design looks smooth, will vote for four tables

Disappointing update. No launch date, so now it's obvious "this summer" goal won't be achieved

Somone asked this over at runitonce.com
When can we expect the launch? Isn’t Summer over?

Phil's answer:
Fair question and I was very much hoping to be launched by now. I suppose it's up for interpretation, but I'm pretty sure Summer is not over just yet, and we're trying very hard to launch in time.

Though it'll depend on where exactly we're at, I expect my next post to have some more concrete information on our progress and launch plans.

I also agree with four but if there is a decision to make between four and six, why not go for five. That way, we don’t need a poll and are getting somewhere between the best of both Worlds

I think 6 is more than fine. It accomplishes what you're trying to accomplish while also keeping the higher volume guys satisfied. I didn't see it mentioned, right to assume MTTs will be 24 or at least 18 max?

I am quite sure it is not mentioned because there is probably quite a long time until they implement MTTs or Sit N Gos, sure they will decide about that at a later date.

I rarely play more than 2 tables... and I still think 6 is a perfect number. It allows for a reasonable 4 tabling while you attempt 1 or 2 potential new tables, whereas a cap of 4 might even be frustrating for recs like me who might occasionally have 4 running but hate them and want to try a different table.

As long as it is way less than the 20-tabling which so clearly encouraged if not necessitated the game-killing under-15%-vpip robots in lower COL countries. Put that funless enviro in the rearview yeehaw!

Cliffs: 6 at launch AINEC. 4 has too high a riskof bumming out even recs like me, while 6 can't really hurt much more than 4 -- both are way better than 20ish so no need to over correct all the way to 4. Unless after launch and more liquidity it clearly REQUIRES dropping to 4. But 6 to start.
