About 160 hands into today's session. Things looking brighter for Phil so far today.

durrrr (GOAT) issued a challenge to the whole world except Phil galfond.

Phil didn't exclude Tom.

What's up with that?

Thanks brother

I'm trying to make these weekly recaps more highlight style that cover the main points for the challenge and keep things a bit more basic on the hand breakdowns so more people can understand on some level.

All open to suggestions on formatting the video or how to better tell that story for a broader audience to be able to understand.

Venividi is up 400k and still won't play a second of deepstack poker lol. Actually disgusting to watch. I bet Phil is kicking himself for allowing it. Hope Veni loses it all back.

As far as making it interesting for the broader audience, I would say: make sure to always include some discussion about the "macro", grand-scheme aspect of the strategy battle between Phil and Veni, and not just strictly the individual hands.

So, talking about any shifts in overall strategy you've noticed in how they are playing, like who is tightening up, or tightening and then loosening, and then re-tightening, or who seems to think who is doing what at what times, if they seem to be getting into leveling wars with each other. Or if one of them is shifting from bluffing more turns to bluffing more rivers, or what have you. That kind of stuff. Anything that goes beyond just strictly action-for-action analysis of individual hands, if you notice any overall trends occurring, would be good to point out, because a lot of the broader audience won't be good at noticing that type of stuff on their own, but will be wondering about it, and enjoy hearing about it if you notice some stuff of that sort and point it out.

(I know you have already done a bit of that in past vids, btw, which is good).

But yea, do as much of that as possible, in addition to the normal hand analysis stuff. The more of that additional macro-strategy discussion stuff, the better, in my opinion.

Great Video Joey. Glad to see you added the cards on the screen as per my suggestion. It makes it so much easier to follow the action.
Keep it going.

Simple, tell Veni to play deepstack.

I wonder if Phil will make a money-offer of some sort to get rid of the anti-deepstack choice rule thing. Like offering 100k to Veni to get rid of that rule for the remainder of the challenge (or whatever the ideal money-offer amount would be).

Then again, if Phil thinks Veni's edge would go up, rather than down, when deepstacked, maybe Phil wouldn't want to offer it, in spite of the fact that the added swing-size potential would play to his favor in terms of increasing his odds of somehow winning the challenge on variance in spite of having a (presumably) negative edge against Veni at this point.

Then again, it would make the matches a lot more fun to watch, with some more memorable monster pots/hands and stuff, which plays to Phil's favor even in a more general viewership and buzz sort of a sense, so maybe that makes up for the previous paragraph.

Katana, Venividi is running scared of deepstack.

Yea, that's why I was saying, I wonder if Phil will offer to pay money to Veni to get rid of Veni's ability to deny deepstacked play (and if so, how much will he offer), lol.

I've watched 5 minutes of this and both have made a super fishy play already. PLO will never be unbeatable.

-500k euros. Veni is playing extremely well and tricky , i am not sure Phil is adjusting correctly to be honest.

i missed that, that should not happen at this point. Did Veni outplay him by 3betting and 4-betting more and inducing Phil intto bigger pots and making him make bad river calldowns or was it a couple of flips that Veni won..

Playing deep for once. Looks like they are going to finish out the session without breaking the tables. About 20 minutes left.

Edit - lol, Nope Venividi making them break.

I was planning to add them in but luckily this guy MoonlightmasterMF has taken it upon himself to do highlights each day for the match and add them in. I need to get in touch with him.
