i dont think galfond is a cheater by any means but playing the owner of a site probably not brightest idea for anyone. do you not find it suspicious that phil ivey was onlines biggest winner on ftp and then on stars got crushed after black friday. its just variance right?

Galfond’s amongst the most trustworthy people in all of poker, lol to you losers suggesting that there would be anything here to be suspicious of.

Guy has done nothing but good for poker and is trying to drum up business for his site. There would be no single better thing for the poker community as a whole than to have a site run by Phil Galfond rise in popularity.

On top of that he’s going to be -ev to most guys who will take him up on this challenge, and he knows that.

The site owner playing is just a bad look IMO.

Mr Sweets was pretty good at the HU PLO deepstack game. Will still be fun to watch if it happens.

You would need to trust someone as much as you do your own mother in order to play heads up for high stakes on a site they own.

No slam against Phil, it's just common sense.

First off, didn't say he was a cheater...actually implied that out of anyone in the community, I think he would be last person to ever cheat in any capacity. And do not be so quick to think he is -ev versus anyone that accepts this challenge, after-all he is the grand daddy of plo.

This seems more like an indictment against other PLO training sites than anything else. Maybe I'm just out of the loop but I can't think of any PLO regs beating ROW 5/10+ that are putting out training content at this time.

Awesome idea and I hope it gets done. These challenges are cool to follow and RIO poker very much needs the publicity. It looks like he's trying to create a win-win situation for another training site in terms of creating publicity. BERRI SWEET could probably crush him for close to two digits in both PLO and NL so I assume he's trying to get challengers from people benefitting as much from publicity as the action itself.

I understand the skepticism about playing for so much money against the owner of the site, but it's completely suicidal for the site if he's even suspected of cheating. He's also a well-known high stakes player that has made video footage for yers showing his play so it would be extremely easy to detect cheating or if anyone played on his account etc.

Phil comes across as a great guy - however this is a little ridiculous. He made his millions in the first place bumhunting Guy to the extreme. Thats how he got rich. Nothing wrong with a bumhunter - I used to be one - but to say hes done nothing but good for poker is pretty funny when extreme bumhunting is exactly how he got his money in the first place. Perhaps this is out of context but I can't stand when people worship him without mentioning this is how he made his real money in poker.
