Again, not sure this is the correct thread for this (or how to format the Tweets so they don't drown-out subsequent text replies... but here is Phil Hellmuth's response to Fedor Holz' critique of the Poker Brat's playing abilities.

Busquet is ADORABLE

Hellmuth can simultaneously be a great poker talent and be a huge dog in high roller MTTs vs Chidwick, Sam Greenwood, etc, and drawing near dead in HU PLO or NL vs the Linus or Wiktor's of the world. His intuition in exploitative / non GTO type spots can't make up for the math against top pros, but that doesn't mean it's not a finely honed poker skill.

The poker brat shtick is annoying. His affiliation with Ultimate Bet was concerning. Hellmuth also probably makes more money cleaning up in Chamath's home game than a significant portion of better players make in their games.

It was kind thing of Galfond to say about him. PhilG is a nice guy; just another reason I find it easy to root for him. Here's rooting he gets an invite to the Palo Alto VC game sometime.

I think the implication in Holdz's tweet is more to do with the fact that Hellmuth sold shares for those 300k in buyins to amateur investors only to punt their money. Rubbed some guys the wrong way.

in fedors case i wouldnt talk about anyone being a fish in high stakes games if there are people offering to play you drunk and put 10bb/100 for you on top just to sit down

Holz losing more 10bb+/100 HU vs literally the #1 player in the world doesn't really make Holz a fish though does it
